Mephisto Genetics SODK in a Bigger Hempy pot

Very nice. I was thinking of going with this strain and u made just made it even more tempting seeing what can come of it. Congrats on one hell of a harvest of some dank looking bud. How bad was the smell while growing. I'm not currently in a tent or using carbon filters. If memory serves me rite this is a stinky strain.

Thanks Mizzo81 !

Not sure how bad she smells as she had 3 other strains growing with her. Deffo could pick up the citrus. Carbon filter kept all the girls in check, you would probably need one.:toke:

Really only ran Canna coco and now AN Sensi Bloom coco, and sensi cal mag. I've lately been shorting the base A to compensate for the heavy N in the calmag, which I'm using more than ever in the mix. Seems to be working ok, not getting N tox but they still seem like they want even more calmag. Still trying to dial in.

Hey Roasty, just going back over your thread and caught this post. I read a study about a year ago that analyzed many plants for nutrient uptake, including cannabis, to see what each flowering plant was using the most at harvest. They did this by weight. Across the board, nitrogen was still being used the most, even in flower. A close second to N was calcium; phosphorous and potassium were much less prevalent. Since then, I have started adding more dolomitic lime, and adding bloom ferts to the recycled coco in the bottom third of my pots. When using straight coco, or a coco/perlite mix, I added cal/mag at 2ml per gallon to every other feed. It has worked great for me. Maybe this will be of use to you brother.

Also, I can't wait to see the candied cured buds from that monster you grew! :toke:

So you add the lime and ferts to the bottom third, and just feed water? Or is this in addition to other ferts watered in?
I am on a chem fert regimine, and anytime i throw organics in the mix, things go wonky on me. Except for Recharge, seems to be ok so far.

I am not familiar with Recharge. I add lime and ewc to entire pot at a handful each. I use recycled coco in the bottom third, usually from the prior grow. I have a rain barrel, so I use 100% rainwater the entire grow. I do add fish emulsion to the water once or twice per week at 400 to 600 ppm. I add fulvic/humic/kelp mix once per week at 1/2 tsp per gallon. I do microbial tea once per month. I rarely ever ph. I check the runoff at initial potting, and when I add fish emulsion. That shit drops the bottom out of ph, usually low 4s. I do have some organic liquid cal/mag on hand, in case I have a strain that uses it up from the soil early. I might add a handful of fruit bat guano and a handful of hardwood ash from the fire pit, but only if the buds look a bit puny mid flower. Hope that helps brother.

Forgot to say that my latest medium is pine bark, coco and perlite mixed in equal parts. I used 50/50 coco/perlite forever. I changed because I wanted to feed like hydro, minus the ph'ing everything. Adding the bark seems to have taken care of that. Not my brain child. I found an old farmers recipe called the 5-1-1 mix, and just tweaked it a bit. :peace:

Thank you for that Frank! I deffo want to do an organic coco grow, I miss that organic taste. Think you have to go one way or the other or things get wonky. The yields from the chem ferts are insane, frost is amazing, but seem to lack a tad in flavor. Think my next Autopot to free up will be organic.

No problem. Just returning the kindness, brother. Let me just say that I started out with the GH trio when I moved indoors. I do agree that the yields are great. The taste, smell and smoothness(oh God.....the silky smoothness) is what drove me to try organics. At this point, I could never go back to salts. And since I have gotten the organics dialed in, and I can still feed like hydro, my yields are only slightly down. With multiple pots in that small tent (because I am a strain whore) I was averaging 3 to 3.5oz per pot with salts. With the 50/50 mix and amendments, I was still getting 2.75 - 3oz. With this new mix, I would not be surprised to hit chemical numbers again.

I didn't address the trich production above. I used traditional hps lighting for a few years. A couple years back I added led lighting, and the trichs went through the roof! I have a shit camera, but I will play around with the settings to see if I can get a couple good micro shots of a few buds from my jar.
