Hi,

I've been lurking around the forums for a month or so, soaking up as much info as possible. This summer, I'm planning to grow about 20 plant(Chaze, IAF, AKR, KVS, and a few other single plants), I would like to start them for a few days indoors then switch to outdoors in the day and in a shed under supplemental lighting at night. After about a month, I plan on moving them to a few guerrilla grow spots.

Originally, I was going to go with FFOF mixed with perlite in 3,5,7, and 10 gallon smart pots. After doing more research, Im questioning both because:
A.) Will the FFOF be too hot for my auto seedlings?
B.) Are the smart pots going to dry up to quickly in a guerrilla grow?

Thanks for any responses in advance!!!

Ffof is definitely too hot for seedlings, put a layer of happy frog or light warrior for the first six inches, then the FFof.

Air pots will dry out fast, they were made for feeding, not containing water.

Try some grow bags you can get at amazon. I bought 25- 7 gallon bags for about dollars.

The bags don't dry out too much

hope that helps you

Peace

Hey Eek!

Thanks for the response! Its very helpful, I'll definitely pick up some happy frog and will look into grow bags as well!

You could start your seedlings in Black Gold seed starter. It is by far the best soil I have ever used for clones and seedlings. Very light mix with a lot of perlite and no food... a $10 bag does about 30 6'' square pots and -40 4'' square pots also my grow last year outdoors I used #30 smart pots with great results. I watered once a week about 4 gallons in each one. if you want to check them out there in one of my journals with outdoor plants. I vegged them indoors under MH in 10 gallon bags until last frost and they were already 6' in the spring when I put them outdoors in smartpots. They reached about 13 feet by harvest then........some douche stole them but they grew nicely

I'll be checking out your grow now! What watt MH did you use? I'm in lower New England, so I feel like our climate is similar. Also, I'm trying to avoid transplanting because I don't want to slow the autos down at all. I want them all to finish in under a 100 days

I would strongly consider one of the organic TLO soil recipies for guerilla growing. You won't have to worry about nutes, PH etc. etc. once prepared.

I would also suggest digging a hole and filling with your prepared soil and just eliminate the pot/bag altogether unless you have easy access for watering and/or aren't worried about stealth. Pots dry out too fast in my experience with a good outdoor spot

"My 2 cents"

Ah vapeo, helping me out again my friend. Does the organic TLO soil need time to cook? I'm getting back from school May 9th and planting May 12th so I don't have any time to cook soil.

Self watering containers- diy thread on here check that out if you are set on containers.
