For those that find it hard to gauge the moisture content in soil and coco grows,I highly recommend this cheap moisture meter.I've been using this for years and I use it more than anything other tool for checking moisture content.Simply push it down into the soil in two or three spots and it with tell you the moisture content at all levels of your pot.Give it a try and I'm sure you will like it.Amazon product ASIN B0739SZZF6 I forgot to add that you can find these at most home improvement stores like Home Depot and Lowes.

yeah man, they arent a bad tool to use. they can bend easy in hard environments but a well worth buy like you said for cheking pots moisture. especially in plastic and ceramic pots that dont breath as well.

What should the reading be for weed potted in soil?

After you fully water it will read wet and and go down as it drys out.When it gets between dry and medium it's time to water.
