Live Stoner Chat Soil questions

shit dude, I had no idea what a great resource AFN is. And the peeps in here seem really cool too....

thanks, and back atcha' :pass:

It really is a great resource here, and a bunch of fantastic growers here with true love for the plant. Soil mix looks pretty good to me!! I rock horse manure to fuel veg in photos and then use bloom nutes once flower shows. Works pretty good!!

yeah your mix is fine simplistic like that bro. if you have castings and in a 20-30 gallon mix 1 cup of steer manure or 1.5 even as long as its fully composted man. that'll be enough . too much manure will heavy it up with that sized mix. i would use the casting, steer manure(if you bought the sheep and its composted fully hold onto it for later,it'll be useful) azomite,Bokashi maybe, frass or even crab shell and oyster powder. again, the simple mix is great and will work fine, but lacks aggressive feeding generally speaking. so flower will wain some. you'll need to top coat or add stuff to flowering most likely. but overall its a good mix and just lighten up on the manures is all. EWC and a cup or two of the steer compost will be fine.

Happy growing bro!

That's was exactly what I found with straight horse manure and lime when I fed plants that way for years. Plants get massive, but lacked flower bulk and also density during budding. They never got monster buds until I slowed down on the horse manure and started feeding with blooming nutrients during flower. I should really try fortifying PK with just organics sometime to see what it will do versus bottled nutes. I am sure they would do well in the right mix!!

if you had success in that mix man why not take a cup or two out depending on amount in the mix.add some bone meal, feather meal maybe,or alfalfa a lighter N feed and then some flower granules with the bone meal 50-50. I think youll be suprised instead of using bottled feeds. a lil extra lime too. but it'll keep the ease of use and give you the bigger flower you want bro. glad it works for you. usually higher doses of straight horse tends to be a little heavy. but great stuff.

my experience with my humanure compost, easy to over nitro, get big rank plants that don't want to quit growing, taking my foot off the throttle now I've hand some experience. Can always use compost tea if the need arises, fast acting. I'll be trying this this season. Bone meal base
