Spanglish´s Mars II 400 + 70x700x160 Ordering, Unboxing and Review

After a few weeks of convincing i had finally got the wife about 75% on my side for a upgrade to a tent and LED, with the only thing being the spending limit she has set me that i am trying to work around to get the best bang for my buck.

Have a very pleasent PM session with @MarshydroTina concerning the best deals and discounts available at this moment for AFN and non AFN members, the codes she offered are more than generous but then i hit a wall, as discount codes are only valid on the Mars Hydro main site, and as i was looking at a light tent combo which the main site don't stock or sell.

Tina kindly passed my details onto Coco from the email sales team who contacted me this morning, not sure what was lost in translation or her level of English is not on par with Tinas, all she offered was just the tent at a $5 discount to cover shipping, no mention of the tent light combo and the best she could offer on that.

Have emailed her again waiting reply (understand big time zone differences) explaining in detail what exactly i need, so lets see if we get there this time.

Gonna be patient and hang out for a suitable response from Coco and see where we take it from there, would break my heart to have to go for a cheaper inferior brand but needs be, still holding faith in Mars to sort this as my current customer experience dealings with them have been well above average.

Ok so in a only just slightly less stoned state i have been looking at my options again...

The 70x70x160 and Mars 2 400w combo on the Ebay store comes in at $272.99 + $6 shipping ( ~$278..99 total)

If is was to order direct through the Mars Hydro website, the tent is $74.99 and the Mars 2 400w is $189.99 (~$264.98) plus free shipping as advertised and whatever discount Tina says she can throw in for our member.

Will wait to see what @MarshydroTina has to say on this before placing the order, in PM or on here if she is comfortable doing so.

But for sure looks like you get more for your cash buying parts separately then in a combo package through the Ebay store.

Might have to change the price to dollars to compare to what i have said as it has the German /de/ prefix in the URL so should display in €, but you may miss something i overlooked.

And just to make this clear i am in no way bashing Mars Hydro and their sales practices, just looking to get the best bang for my buck if anything i respect them greatly due to quality vs price.

Makes perfect sense that is the case. Am i correct in thinking in buying the light and tent as two separate items from you will work out cheaper than the Ebay combo, if so count yourself gaining a new customer very soon this wee, as long as course you ship to Spain and accept credit cards.

Part of the thinking behind it exactly, gonna see if i can take my semi skilled success in the micro grows over into a proper setup and produce something with some size to it lol.

The deal is not signed and sealed yet as have been in contact with a few other companies offering equal quality tents and comparative lighting at about the same oreven less price (discounts and shipping included), so communications continue ( a slow process with time zone differences) before a final decision is made, if it was just down to customer service after speaking to Tina and CoCo Mars would win hands down, but also comes to quality, after sales service, stealth and any extras which Mars excel at in many ways, but also do the others i have been speaking to, am a frugal buyer when it comes to higher value items and should know by the end of week, but like to weight out the pros and cons.
