Hi people, this is my first time growing Autoflowers and also my first grow journal ever.
I will be growing Bluеberry Auto and Skunk Auto by Speed Seeds. The seeds were purchased last year, together with photoperiod Black Domina and photoperiod Northern Lights, also by Speed Seeds. I grew out the two Speed Seeds photoperiods and I was happy with the results.

So now it is time to test the two Speed Seeds' Autoflowers. I soaked the beans in water for 24 hours and then placed them in wet paper towels. The Skunk Auto just showed a tap root and will be placed in soil soon, while the Bluеberry Auto is still whole and unopened. I hope she pops up soon, or I will have to manually crack her with tweezers.

Here is some info about the grow:
Strains: Bluebеrry Auto and Skunk Auto by Speed Seeds
Grow medium: soil
Lights: a total of 220 Watts CFL (150W at 2700K + 70W at 6500K)
Light schedule: 19/5
Grow box: homemade out of a $15 folding greenhouse (similar to this one, but with a flat top), I covered the walls in tin foil. Size of the grow box is 1 meter L X 0.5 meter W X 1.50 meter H
Ventilation: one exhaust PC fan and that's it
Pots: the germinated seeds will be planted directly in their final 10 liter pots

Here is a photo of the Skunk Auto with her tap root.

To be continued.

Thanks.
I just put the Skunk Auto in soil. The Bluеberry Auto seed is still dormant. I think I will crack her open manually to speed things up, because she is lagging behind the Skunk.

I cracked the shell of the The Bluеberry seed with tweezers, but it still has not shown a tap root. I am starting to lose hope for this plant, which is a pity, because I wanted to grow this heavy Indica girl so bad. Will let her sit in the wet paper towel for a day or two. If she doesn't show a tap root, I will plant her in soil as a last resort.

The good news is that the Skunk sprouted out of the soil (pic below).

I am having heat problems - the temperature inside the box is 37 degrees Centigrade. Unfortunately, there is no way for me to fix that because we are having a really hot summer this year and the temperature in my room is 27 degrees. Whoever thinks that CFLs don't get hot - think again.
I will just let the plants adapt to the temperature. I hope that they will survive and that their growth won't get stunted too much by the heat.

The Bluеberry seed still hasn't shown a tap root. I am very, very sad because of this.
I just planted the seed in a small cup with soil and covered the cup with transparent foil. It's under the lights now, this is my last hope for her. Let's see if she can sprout.

We have a little Skunk princess:

Still waiting for the Bluеberry to pop out of the soil. I hope she is alive, will let her sit in the cup for one more week and if she doesn't show any signs of life, I will have to give up.

Some progress of the Skunk, it's day 5 since she showed a tap root.
What do you think, is she too small for a 5 day plant? I need your opinion, guys.

PS:
Still hoping and waiting for the Blueberry to sprout.

This is what she looks like at day 7.
The cotyledons look dark green and healthy, while the true leaves are lime green and have the said burning at their ends.
I lowered the temperature inside the box by removing the largest and hottest CFL bulb and also by moving the entire light assembly further up and away from the plants. Now the temperature is 31C during the light period. Let's see if this will cure her illness.

Here she is at day 8.
She is so short that the yellowing tips of her her drooping leaves are touching the soil (which can't be good).
It bothers me that she is 8 days old and still has only two sets of true leaves, with the second set still in development. Maybe it's the stress form her illness that is stunting her growth. Or maybe I'm just too impatient.
