Spider mites

Salutations ArcticJake,

...rotating arsenal...

A couple years ago i had a project based on the idea that Spider-Mite eggs are too primitive as living organisms to "adapt"; instead of targetting adults i suggested it would be easier just to aim for the eggs instead, since there can't be a colony without them i presumed. By mid-June i had everything ready to begin: e.g. plenty of Bug-B-Gon resistant mutants + lots of green Cannatonic folliage. They loved it as i recall... But i finally cancelled my experiment on solstice day for a lack of interest/support, because of what felt like simple preconceptions and i didn't feel attracted to even more adversity at the time so i finally quit.

Imagine, i planned spraying with Colloidal Silver in low concentrations (3 ~ 10 ppm) followed by a fresh-water rince after 6 minutes, hoping to kill the eggs while avoiding CS absorption by vegetal tissues. Talk about blasphematory heresy!...

Possibly i'll never know if that could have worked nor why it should have failed (i didn't care having males, ultimately. On the contrary!), but i prefered to let go just because of anthropomorphic jokes on "hermies" i must conclude. M'well, the CS Generator alone was controversial enough actually. Yet i invested resources into this concept 6 months in advance, thinking i wouldn't be the only curious guy around waiting to see how it goes. Well, today it would qualify for some Frankeinstein section i was told...

So i can only confirm The Borg does adapt and, yes, it requires involvement into an infernal warfair spiral - which i had always rejected before, right from the start. My Bug-B-Gon resistant mites were an extra feature i added later as the opportunity showed up, then logging meters eventually arrived that finished killing all remaining hopes of trying again, some day...

But i DID witness them adapting and YES they're efficient at it, most especially if/when we won't!...

Good day, have fun! :peace:

Just in case anyone was wondering... Yellow and black wasps appear to like the taste of spidermites as well. I was moving plants last night and saw a brown leaf at the top of a bud. Ha-ha not a leaf I went to pluck it and low and behold I had a wasp by the wing. He never moved just kept eating. Either that or he was stuck in the stickiness and pretty well wasted.

Mighty Wash is really effective.

But after having to squash infestations in my first couple grows, I now put a Hot Shot No-Pest strip in with the plants for the third or fourth week of every cycle- right before and as they're transitioning into flower..just for that week. Haven't seen the buggers since last year. :)

If you all don't mind I have a question about the spider mites. I spayed my ladies last week with AzaMax. Today I was doing an inspection and found a couple of survivors. The Problem I have is, I started the flush and plan on harvesting next week. Can I spray again with out affecting my buds? Or should I just squash the ones I see until harvest. She shares a room with my other lady who is only about 50 days old. She has not been infested yet but I don't want her to either.

Thanks in advance.

Azamax works best on infestations with repeated applications.
Yes, you can re apply it without affecting the buds.
They say you can use it within 48hrs of harvest.
Personally I wouldn't use it that close to harvest , but you should be good with a weeks time ahead of you.:pass:

Mr. johnny on the spot! Thanks for the quick reply dude It is so appreciated.

Fantasy, consider a spinosad product, which will have less residues, from what I can tell,...(I use spinosad often, outside the pests are endless!)... like Azamax, it's not an instant kill product, it sickens them first, which stops feeding,.. croak out comes later in about a day,... :amazon:

Man I must be a sissy. I still haven't sprayed. I vacuum my buds once or twice a day. And out if the 1500 ladybugs I deployed about a week and a half ago I still see a couple hundred I bet still feeding away. I know I probly won't get em all but I've only seen webs twice and that was before I started vacuuming the whole plant.
