Help !! I'm probably a week away from my first ever harvest and just noticed some spider mites on some of the upper fan leaves . Should I go ahead and harvest or just take off the affected fan leaves. It seems that the trichomes are all milky. I'm not sure what to do. The infestation doesn't seem to bad yet.

I'd hit em with a little water/vinegar mix ...tsp/qt...maybe a little less.. see if that takes care of it. If you remove the leaves they're just gonna find more leaves to get into.

I've had them before and it took care of them for a good few weeks.

No Help ?

I think anything you spray on your flower now will leave a residue..it's really quite bad timing for you, unfortunately.

If you're happy that the trichomes are nice and cloudy then I would go ahead and chop before the infestation worsens.

Afterwards, you really need to make sure no mites or eggs survive for when you next start growing in that area...they really are the cockroaches of the bug world in my opinion..very hard to kill and spread/multiply like wildfire.

I get shivers thinking about those nasty SOBs. Clean everywhere leave nothing unturned. I found some living behind a cfl bulb. One guy had some hiding in bamboo stakes, another found inside the case of his LED. They come back with a vengeance until you find the last one. Good luck:smoking:

Theoretically (I have never done this) you can spray them off the plant with just a water spray; then spray the tent where the creatures went with neem and that will give you a few more days.. This is just a stalling tactic to get you a few days more days to ripen before harvest. You need to do this every two days because the eggs hatch every three days.

After harvest use a Hot Shot No Pest Strip in the room if you can. This shit is so poisonous as an organic guy it makes me cringe but it will solve the mite problem. Seal off the room perfectly from the rest of the living space. I visited a guys grow that was so infested I creeped out. When I got home I shed all my clothes put them in a bag put them all in the car with a no pest strip overnight. I hosed myself off outside and then took a shower. I did not transport any of those little bastards to my grow. I only ever had them once and that is enough!

:goodluck:

How did this turn out. I am 2 weeks out and found some mites. I removed all the leaves, added fans, "painted" the whole plant with diatomaceous earth. My small vegging plants I sprayed with 9:1 (water : iso) mixture. I removed the top inch of soil and hit em hard with the diatomaceous earth. But this big girl that is 20 days from harvest I am trying to think ahead. I have been watching with my jewler's loop and looking for good flowering solutions.
