Passion takes you where hard work can't.
Have a 2 fast 2 vast that I grew for first time and she's showing spots. They were first Rusty spots on a green leaf now the leaves turning yellow and spotty. All during the beginning of flower.
So I'm running all roots organics in roots original soil. My pH is usually 6.5. I'm pretty anal with the pH because I know the issues it causes so i ph my water also. I only did one veg feed within EC of .5 and that was about when was 21 days old. I did add the Humboldt big up powder with the organic nutrients but I took out the bloom booster. PH was 6.4 EC was 1.3. That was exactly 7 days ago. The Humboldt is like 33% phosphorus 23% potassium . I haven't tested my run off yet but I will tomorrow because I am due for a watering. My feedings are also a little light due to the fact I'm afraid of lockout or overfeeding.Jupiter- Looks like a few things going on here,... tell me what medium you're in, your nute'/feed dosage/schedule, if you've done any pH testing of medium, adjusting of nute pH,... Symptoms have a mixed look to them: P defc., K defc., maybe Ca too, hard to say,... PK demand is elevated now, in early bloom,...
Jupiter---all my soil grows looked like yours, but--far worse (and hoping all photos have been deleted with prejudice) and I too was using Roots. Tough to get PH set. So hot is the soil and then adding nutes just defeats the purpose. Normally--outdoors a grower will only feed if a def is noticed or last part of flowering.
Yeah I noticed that I had more problems in the beginning when I would feed a lot in veg. so I cut it down to one veg feed and it seemed to correct everything. Now that I'm in bloom I usually go really light for the most part works but sometimes I get these damn spots.
Good luck--sounds like a great plan.
I used to feed a lot during veg and I noticed I would always have these problems. So I cut down to one feed Midway through veg and that seemed to work. In bloom I would go really light and that also worked but sometimes with new strains I get those damned spot. I do feed every week in bloom now I'm thinking I should cut it down. It seems after I get the deficiencies I do what you said and push through the cycle and the buds actually turned out pretty damn good . However I'm trying to get a hundred percent out of the plant so I really know how the strain performs . I just want to really push the plant to get those fat buds. That's why I actually substituted a synthetic booster to see if it would work. You see the results up top LOL. It's definitely a learning experience and I just want to know what is going wrong so I can correct it. Like a fundamental understanding so I can identify, diagnose ,and correct the problem. Thank you for the input much appreciated.Jupiter---all my soil grows looked like yours, but--far worse (and hoping all photos have been deleted with prejudice) and I too was using Roots. I'm testing the run off today. My nutrients solution is 6.5. When I do test my runoff I usually will mix up 5 gallons of 6.5 water. I'll water to a slight runoff wait a minute then put a little cup under my platform. I then water again until the cup is full for a sufficient sample. The Humboldt I follow the instructions. I added it with my normal feed but I took out the bloom booster I usually use and substituted that. Probably wasn't a good idea. Do you test your run off all the time or just when there's a problem? I use a blue lab pH /ec pen... thanks for the info! Hmmm,, you mean the in-soil pH is 6.5? How do you take you pH, with a quality probe (skinny probe cheapie models are lousy), or using the run-off method? The latter is a dubious method for accuracy unless you follow a specific procedure; testing straight run-off, especially after feeding, will not give accurate results,... here's a link-- ( https://www.autoflower.org/threads/...-for-run-off-testing-and-ph-estimation.41733/ ) ..... Okay, the Humboldt Big Up, it's (?)-23-33 ? Did you dilute? 1300EC, doesn't sound like it,... This may change everything,... I'm trying to see if you actually have a toxicity issue, and/or an off pH lockout issue, so that's why I need to confirm a solid pH soil reading... info for toxicity symptoms is pretty scare compared to defc.'s! Plus, they occur with other related issues at the same time, making diagnosis difficult,... Root original tends to lose it's lime buffering quickly from what others report, contributing to further pH drift,...
