This will be a work in progress as I build my stealth cabinet, but I have one seed germinated already (NL x BB) and growing under my T5 HO lights.....and my second one (Med GOM 1.0) which hasn't popped up yet. First photo shows the NL x BB that's 7 days old now....in coco and perlite and a 2.5 gallon black plastic pot.
Since autos don't like transplanting, I'm germinating my seeds in small coir pots (3" tall x 2.75" wide) that I snip the bottoms almost completely off--second photo shows how the bottom is still connected at two very small points, one that's visible on this side and one on the other side of the Sharpie marker. The Sharpie is there just to show the connection. These coir pots are really nice because the roots of my seedling can grow right through the sides--unlike with plastic pots.
So......I've got my cab started.....I have to construct the back side, bottom shelf, and the doors for the front. Dimensions are: 29" tall, 25" wide, and 16 1/2" deep. Small, I know, but larger than the computer case I was originally planning on using, and this being my first real grow, I want to spend more on the best lights I can afford than anything else. For this cab I'm planning on a 300W LED plus CFL's to supplement from the sides--I have the CFL's already (2 x 40W 6500K and 2 x 40W 2700K) and hope to order my LED this week. In the meantime my 2 seedlings can start under my T5's. I have a good friend (who is also VERY interested in doing an indoor stealth grow) to help with the electric aspects--setting up the lights properly, fans and carbon filter and all....I have my reflective mylar but still have to get a decent PH meter--like I said, this is a work in progress!
