New Grower Starting seeds under HID

Can you start out seeds under an hid? Current grow I put the seedlings under the big light while they were still very small and they took right off. The light is 400w cmh and it would be about two feet above the buckets

Yes i stert mine under 600w HPS with the light about 26" and if they show any signs of heat issues, i just raise it a little Hazy

Yes, HPS lights work well for the whole auto grow cycle, especially if the bulb has an expanded blue spectrum to provide better veg growth. Watch your node spacing and raise or lower the light accordingly to keep it at about 1".

Yes, you can. I don't think you would want to be any closer than that (2') at the seedling stage.

It's a CMH light so it's great for veg and flower. My space is limited to the one box so it's a big help to put them right in I'm super stoked to get two more underway. I have two plants flowering in there now i love how you can have new and finishing autos in the same space. Thanks for the speedy reply I love this forum great vibe here!
