will be checking your updates all good so far..also your 400 watt light looks like mine i was wondering on the top of your light is the reflector covering part of the hole were you are venting out.... that is the 400 watt that has ballast built in right... i was trying to find a way to secure mine in the tent looked at your setup nice. do you get any problems ventilating and odor proffing your tent.....

Update time! things are actually about to get started with my grow... Got home and 4 of 5 seeds have popped roots im going to mix my soil and perlite tonight and drop the beans. also got 10 freebies soaking and they will be going outside.

Made my own reflectors for my cfls. theyre too expensive and i dont like the dome clamp lamp style. Pics below of before and after Let me know if you want a list of what it takes to make. cost me only 15 bucks each reflector. i made 2 of them in 1 hour for 28.73 at Lowes.

Ive selected my nutrients for this grow. I went with the General organics Go Box because for 1 it was on sale for 29.99 seconds ive done some research and came to my own "personal opinion" that fox farms and advanced nutrients ect. are not worth the extra $ and have too many extra additives. This box for 30 bucks i got both grow and bloom formulas in 16 oz along with 6 different 8 oz additives. Well known brand and plenty for this grow for only 30$ as this is sort of a test grow. Still a bit confused as to how to feed. i understand it but dont at the same time. So say i want to use my bloom and my booster aswell as lets say my CaMag supp. would i add the proper amount in ml to the amount of water its supposed to be mixed with for each suppliment then mix all those waters together then water my plants evenly with it all?? so confused... anyways thats the update stay tuned should be sprouting within a couple of days. Time of bean drop 12 am Pacific time.

ok on the box you would have the mixing schedule... also you would make enough for feeding all plants i use 3 gallon coco pots....i miget 5 gallons of water then ph it to 5.7 then add the mixture for growth since you would be in growth stage first.... with the addiditves you have look on the box. then when you see buds start to form stop using the grow and got to the bloom with the addidtives you have also look on the back of box but you mix one at a time into the ph water....... good luck hope that answer your question

Yes this is the 400 watt hortilux light with built in ballast. I bought 2 4 inch vent ports and installed them yours should have to vent covers with small slats just remove and replace. the top one is for exhaust inside the light there is 2 triangular holes that allow air to go out the top. As far as smell goes i do have a carbon filter but never have used one untill today so im unsure at this moment. I can say i took tissues and set them at any joints or where ducting connected to check for air leaks and havent found on yet it seems like a solid vented hood. And thanks a ton for the nutrient advise thats the only thing i need to still figure out.

New update! 5th seed popped its root since my last update Props to nirvana thus far! well see if they're actually fem. All seeds have been planted in 3 gallon grow bags with a 3:1 mix of OF/Perlite with about 2 inch diameter around the soil is some plain organic soil with nothing in it for the seedlings plus some perlite that mixed in. im going to have the two cfls on when they first sprout for a day or two before adding metal halide.

Seeking advice regarding the SCROG. Could this be a bad idea with an autoflower strain? Also, my tent is only 4x2x5 maybe theres not enough depth to the tent for a 5 plant SCROG? Thanks for all the help so far everyone!

No update this morning. They just Makin there way to the top. Got my reorder from Buddha seeds. Had I know it would be this fast I would have waited. I'm almost tempted to get 2 200 watt cfls and grow 5 on the left under 400 cfl and 5 on the right under 400 hps. Or maybe I'll just be patient. Still need help regarding weather or not to scrog. See post above.

Went to my Po Box today and opened up my Buddha purple kush auto seeds and got 6 freebies all feminized! One of which is a T H Seeds auto bubblegum I have it germinating and will plant it along side of my 5 bubbleiscious

Day one is here! All 5 seeds are above soil! Im really excited too see these things grow. changed from 2 42 watt cfls to 2 100 watters to start the first few days. i have the about 6 inches above the soil. m temps are from 71-79 so far depending if the tent is open or closed. humidity is around 38-50 weather the fan is on or off. averages around 40 with the fan on. also got a 7.5 gal tub filled with my R/O water with an airstone to get some oxyen in it. Below is a picture of the full set and final setup minus the 400 watter turned on followed by all 5 sprouts

quick shout out to nirvana seedbank. Ive heard alot of this and that about they give away "freebies" that are no good and wont germinate and only give them away cuz they know this. All ten of mine have germinated within 48 hours thats 10/10 success 8 of wich i have in 2 litler pots for a a couple weeks then they will be planted straight in the ground along a river bank here in washington. well see what happens ill throw in an update on those every so often as well! in about 6 hours 3 of my bubbleiscious popped off there hats and green is showing. didnt realize how fast these things take place. So excited.

Decided to forget about the scrog who am i kidding lol this is my first time and its an autoflower. Not to mention not big enough tent IMO. will possibly LST or just leave them be and only LST one to compare results. Stay tuned!

Looking good. I'm new to autoflowers (waiting on my seeds and LED) but have been doing photoperiod plants for 5 years.

A suggestion on the nutes... fill the bucket with water first then add the nutes to the bucket. Some nutrient solutions when mixed together while not being diluted in water can lock each other out so always add them to water rather than mix the nutes THEN fill the bucket with water.

Also even if you ph your water before you add nutes always double check and make sure after adding them that you are still in line. On my photo plants, I have honestly quit checking my ph but I got to know my water over time and it seems that no matter what I add to it I always end up around 6-7 which is acceptable. It really depends on what your water is to begin with.

For another option down the road if you are looking to stay mostly organic (technically organically deriven) Age Old Organics has treated me really solid in the past and pumped out some high quality stuff. They aren't too pricey either.

Good looking start, I'm excited for you and I'm glad you are helping somebody out with the meds they need!
