I'm trying to make some liquid fermented banana extract stuff (lol) for the final couple of weeks to enhance flavor and aroma of the buds. The idea here is to basically just extract all the good stuff from the banana but other than that keeping the nutritional values to minimum. So far I have added approx. 1 liter of water, a small banana (also scraped the inside of the peel), a little bit of organic molasses and a few drops of organic seaweed extract. Anything I should add? I expect the process to take about 2-4 weeks. I'm probably going to bubble it now and then with an air stone. Does that sound about right?

If I happen to come up with something usable, how do I store it? I was thinking perhaps filtering the mush out after brewing (paper coffee filters?) and storing the filtered stuff in an opaque bottle and maybe even with a few drops of hydrogen peroxide might help me preserve the stuff for a few months. Or do I have to make a new batch for every grow?

Use a little bit of blended up pineapple skin. It really helps with flavor

Doesnt quick fermentation need yeast primarily? I was under the impression the sugars feed the yeast

Primarily just fermentation for the sake of producing ethanol requires yeast, I think. Otherwise you're golden without but alcohol can probably still form. Just a guess, though.

There is natural yeast in many fruits all you need to add is sugar and it will ferment if kept in a warm place.

made some fermented fruit and comfrey, nettle and rhubarb juice and stored it all winter and using it for this grow.

Its not compost tea though that stuff gets slimy and don't keep past a few days.

That's beautiful mate! So, fermented stuff (anaerobic process) can be stored (some say up to a year) whereas compost tea (aerobic process) cannot?

I have the goop I'm experimenting with in a normal plastic soda bottle. Do I make it airtight and burp it or leave the cap a little loose? Do I need to shake the bottle every now and then or would that do more harm than good? Also, are there any telltale signs that the fermenting process is ongoing? I don't see bubbles or anything.

I'm also planning to make another extract from willow and honey to be used for the first few weeks of the grow. Maybe some cucumber too. Would there be any point in giving rooting hormones to seedlings?

I stored mine all winter and still looks good and smells fine in a jar with a lid kept in a cool dark place.

And yes you can se he fermenting process bubbles will form and smell like alcohol.

Here is my comfrey and fireweed after a week of fermenting with just sugar and water

Not sure about root hormones.
