Day 6. I am using 250 hps, and started out with the bulb 22" away from her. I lowered the light to 18" yesterday. What do you pimps think???? Is she stretching??? Thanks
The best way to judge a good lamp distance from the plant is to hold ones hand palm down at plant level for 30 seconds or more....if the back of your hand is uncomfortably hot, then you are too close.
Right now my light distance is 20" away from my girl. Is that ok? She looks like she is stretching. Am I tripping on that one? I have read this light distance chart, http://www.thctalk.com/gallery/data/500/HPS-Light-Distance-Chart.jpg But it doesn't tell me the ranges for each stage. I have been guessing rn. Can anybody give me a rough estimate, with a 250hps around what ranges my girl should be for seedling, preflower, flower, etc. THANKS!!
Seems fine to me...I have noticed a certain amount of stretch in the stem below the cotyldons on many strains...IMO it's just the plant beginning life with a decent stalk....the true test should be if there is stretching between the internodes of the plant...as each new leafset appears, the branching inbetween them is where undesirable stretching would appear.....though I suggest you wait on others opinions....I am not greatly knowledgable on the same effects on AF plants....
My ph is fine. I am using 6.5 distilled water. Thanks though. It needs nutes. I started her in a 32 oz cup with LW and perlite, for a week, while I waited on my main soil to have time to buffer.
