I think having its own category on the main page would encourage more journals. To me, personally, are the most useful part as you get to see the nuances and trials and error, tips, etc. that help us tremendously.

I agree 100%. I read the new growers, indoor, LED forums looking for questions, answers, etc. They're often full of grow journals which (to me) broadens the scope of the forum and makes it harder to keep up with more conversational topics.

There could be a grow journal forum with sub-forums for the more specific realms that a grower may be demonstrating.

Or, vBulletin has a customized feature to "tag" posts with a value. A "grow journal" forum could use that feature so a grower could tag their journal as LED, Indoor and Hydro. (I.e., why should it be either/or?).

It's just a matter of organization. Instead of piling grow journals into topic-based forums, concentrate them into a journal forum which could have the same sub-sections.

Just a thought a great idea just add a sticky post like grow journals and than just copy and paste the above section and their links and explain in the sticky that is how things are done and those are where the grow journals grows....N00b getting jiggy with the AFN vibe :hug: :Sharing One:

I don't have a horse in this race, except to say that it hasn't really been an issue adjusting to the terrain, rather than attempting to adjust the terrain....my 2 cents.

Hi n00b, I see where your coming from, thought about the same thing myself. You'll find that over time, the way you utilize AFN will change considerably as your confidence and knowledge base expands.

Personally I'd like to see more "Grow Reports" but like anything, it takes a lot of time, I haven't even done it yet with my first 2 grows but will eventually. I foresee it as a condensed summary of the grow journal with pics showing progress and issues plus how they are overcome, that way the meat the journal will be on the first post, than discussion can take place after.
