Hey guys, let me run my plans by you as I'm still in the planning stages..I won't be able to grow until March since i'm going outdoors. This will be my first grow, i'm excited!!! Feel free to chime in and let me know what you think..esp you senior growers. STITCH I would love to get you comments and info too..

10 fem Super Cali Haze seeds
5gal buckets with Fox Farm Happy Frog soil
Fox Farm Grow and Bloom nutes

Do I use the FF Grow for the first month or so?
Wait until I see signs of flowering before I switch to Bloom?
At what time should I stop using nutes and flush with just water?

Keep in mind I want to yield the most off each plant as possible, so help me out guys!!

Thanks in advance!!

The best advise I got for my first grow was "don't give them fuck all." It was solid advise. A lot of people really stunt their plants over nuting them, it's easy to up the dose later on but impossible to repair the damage once it's done. I started mine on plain water every 3 days, to keep them thirsty (they produce more bud in survival mode), then every second water I'd throw in about .25 the recommended dose of nutes. As I moved into flower I upped that to .25 the recommended dose every feed and mine are thriving.

Trust me, you'll see any difficenct easily enough. Just listen to the plant and what it's telling you. Droppy leaves = Water. Weird colours on the leafs - nute issues. Then check it online.

Good luck.

Welcome aboard

That advice above is very sound advice. Im one of those quilty of stunting due to wrong medium with too much nutes. I havent used those particular soils/nutes before but plenty on here have so worth taking a good read through the many grow journals etc on here for those using similar - all in all though, as mentioned, the above advice is good - they really dont need much especially in the first month - a biggie though is making sure ph is right. Its easy to think more nutes equals more yield but once stunted its lifelong growth lost and nute burn etc from over-feeding can be much more restricting than under feeding. As for when to flush - well theres a long time from now till then so plenty of time to get that right and if you have pics with a grow journal here Im sure many will help with the timing for both flushing and feeding.

The Super Cali Hazes can get pretty big so make sure youve got adequate space/cover where your planning to grow them. Best of luck mate and as mentioned, theres many growers on here using similar soil/nutes and a few threads with SCH grows (some beauties) so have a good read and enjoy!

Welcome to AFN. I did a grow of SCH outdoors this summer with great results. If you want bigger yields I would up your pot size to 10 gallon, which is what Stitch recommends and what I used. They will take a little longer to show sex, about 5 weeks, and will veg a little longer, about 10 weeks. I fed mine veg nutes through week 10, then switched to bloom through around week 17. They finished at 19 weeks. Mine got around 4.5' tall, plus the pot, so were about 6' tall total. Huge main colas. Total yield from the 3 plants was just under 14 oz. They were very hardy plants and the spider mites pretty much left them alone. The smoke is a good day timer and pretty motivating.

Thanks for all the info guys!!

Muddy how many plants did you grow outdoors? 14ozs is great bro!! Any pictures?

I did two runs of SCH outdoors this year. The first batch was were some test seeds and didn't do all that well. The second run were the released seeds and did much better. I had 5 plants, one being a runt that only got about 3' tall. It, and another one got hit bad by spider mites. So I ended up with 3 good ones that yielded a combined 13.75 oz. Sorry, no pics.

What soil and nutes you using? And and the risk of sounding dumb..how do you check/adjust the Ph levels??? Before I water, what do I want my level to be?? Thanks man!!!

Mine were grown in a combination of Pro Mix BX and composted cow manure. I used rain water, Better Gro Orchid Plus in veg and their Bloom Booster, along with cal/mag and PK13.14 in flower.

You need a pH tester to check the pH. Two different types, probe type for use in soil and glass electrode for use in liquids. There are also test kits that use paper strips but they are not very accurate. Same with the cheap meters you see in Lowes, Home Depot, etc. For soil growing the pH should be 6.5.

19+ weeks is a looong ass time for an auto!wow!thats late october finish!kind of seems moot to me

They're super-autos, you can start them outside at the earliest possible point (right after the last frost) and they will flower/preflower during increasing daylight hours and/or greater than 12/12 daylight. That makes them finish sooner than regular plants which veg all the way to the summer solstice (21 June) when the days start to become shorter and shorter. If you want a fast finisher outside, grab some of Cres' gear (HighRise seeds for sale at www.RCMcollective.ca) They're photo sensitive, but you can plant them early in the season and expect finished product before the end of September in most latitudes around 45*north.
