Mephisto Genetics Super Soil vs AN in Coco. Sour Crinkle, BlueToof, and Gold Glue

So in the past few days the Super Soil Coco girls started to preflower. The nute girls are larger, and not preflowering. So at this rate the Super Girls are ahead in terms of speed of reaching sex, but smaller by a lot. In my experience smaller Autos start to flower sooner and finish sooner. I predict the same with the Super Soil girls. I hope they stretch a decent amount now, they need it!

I Put A Dome In The Sour crinkle Pot, That Plant Is 3x The Size Of the Rest Started The Same Day. It is about To Throw Preflowers. I Have A Gold Glue And a Bluetoof WITHOUT airdomes Being Fed Nutes. They Are Bigger Than The Ones in Super Soil, But Not Preflowering.

If you grow 2 Auto seeds and one is in a 1 gal pot and one is in a 2 gal pot, no Airdomes...just normal. The 1 gal pot plant will almost always start flowering first and finish sooner. There is a correlation between root growth and flower induction. I believe that is one reason many of the growers on here have plants going 80-100 days. The size of the plant can lengthen your entire grow Cycle With Autos. I have a perfect example, I have a coup!e Of 3BOG plants. One is in A Smaller pot 1/2 gal, no Airdome and it is much smaller. It is ready to be flushed, looks killer...but 1/2 the size of the other plant. The other is in a 1gal pot. It is much larger, and needs an easy 7-10 days. Different phenos can cause this...but plant size is the real reason for the faster finish. Air injection increases root growth, which in return sparks flowering faster.

Mitch From Mephisto stuffs a lot of plants in small spaces, But Yields are not huge. They do not embelish flowering times. They do 2 Things that Help Speed Things Up. Or Not Slow Them Down Shall We Say. First, they and I prefer to start Our Seedlings In Small Pots And then transfer to larger Pots later. If done correctly the plants will grow roots better, grow faster, and show sex sooner. This is a fact. Transplanting them at the right time makes them dive right into flowering...instead of vegging longer. If you are looking to do more plants and turn them over faster...that is the way. If you want less plants and want to SCROG, use a,larger pot to ensure a longer veg cycle. Some People claim Autos have a SET time span before they flower. Bull crap. Just overwatering alone can extend your veg time. Lots of factors for different grow times with Autos. I personally got into experimenting with Autos to turn over plants fast and get a variety of strains in a smaller space. With much experimentation I have definitely found ways to manipulate Autos. The real key to growing successfully is to find each strains natural growth is. Then manipulate it to your wants/needs. I have grown a 3BOG in DWC, 5 gal Bucket. Massive plant. Would take up a 4x4 tent by herself!!! That is a small/medium sized strain when you do it in a small pot. I could fit 9 small ones OR 4-6 medium 3BOG in the same 4x4 space. FWIW, increased size doesn't translate to improved yields always. Nor does size translate to improved quality. Many times large plants have more waste and varying qualities of material on the same plant.

There are few nuggets of great auto growing info in that post Slow. Good reading. I like the part about big plants have waste and varying quality of material. It make sense.

One question. Is germ, then a couple of weeks in a solo cup and then transplant to autopot, the kind of transplanting your are talking about for faster flowering?

I just had a look at the MG guide and the sections on germ and transplanting. It mentions if using solo cups, transplant after a week. I'll try to aim for that. Going to germ some Dutch Passions tonight.

Yep! Start in cups, let then grow for couple weeks. Plop out of cup and into your bigger pot. I will share some Cosmic Queen pics soon. I started them in 9oz cups. I like using clear cups with holes poked into the bottom. Use another cup same size without holes in it. So cup with holes goes inside of the one without. I use the cup inside cup method to water my seedlings. Drowning seedlings from the top or bottom will slow things down. Use the cup to put a little bit of water in bottom daily. Then just need top moist, not soaked. I added a little extra water to one of my Cosmic Queens the other day. She slowed down compared to the other. Because the root system is wet, the roots don't need to expand. This is why my Super Soil Coco girls directly planted are growing slowly as well, medium too wet. I added another fan, the Coco is drying out better and growth has increased.

Go by plant size, not time. You don't want to meds up the root system by transplanting early. A week is cutting it close in a Solo. 10-14 days better

Been Creeping on your thread here and got to say very informative and interesting, My watering is a struggle for me I just purchased some Autopots but my last grow and this current one seems I either over or under water finding the right rythem truly takes work!! I have a Blue Toof in a 1 liter pot and it's bigger and more Healthy looking than the three I have in 3 gallon pots so your teaching me many things with your thread here thanks Bro✌️
