I let them go, until the seeds, start to fall out of the buds, when I am on a seed run. I have around a 90% germ rate, with the seeds, I make. I learned, a few years back, not to take them, until they are ready. Outdoors, I go until I can see the seeds, starting to peek out of the calyxes. Indoors, as soon as I see the first seed, hit my tent floor.

P.S. I have been known, to harvest the rest of the plant, and leave the limb I pollinated, to finish.
