hello I’ve been running my autoflowers under 24 hours lighting and ran into multiple problems from the light being to intense. The plants are 59 days old. My question is can I change the light cycle to 20/4 to let them recover quicker? And to get rest? Or would it just stress it out Evan more. Thanks for taking interest into my post.

howdy :d5:
u can change ur cycle sure ,
or put light higher if u can?

Sounds like more of a distance issue than time. But yes autos are very forgiving when it comes to switching up their lighting. Have 4 outside now that came out of a tent running 18/6. No visible issues.

This seems more plausible. Which light are you using? What is distance from canopy. A pic would be more helpful.

It’s about 15 inches away. And the tall gorilla glues cola is tied to the side to keep it out of direct light It’s a 300watt ufo led “cheap”. I also have the same one that is a 150 watt I’m thinking I might need that one. I have the 300 watt all the way to the corner as you see in the pic. Thanks for replying

I thought they needed more light so I hooked up a 150 watt led along side the 300 watt and that’s when it fried, I took down the 150 watt and upped my feed to 1/2 strength. Should I take down the 300 watt and put up the 150 watt? The tent I’m using is a 2x2x4

I hooked up the small 150 watt. Maybe I should have used this one from the start. I also switched the light cycle from 24 hours to 20/4 last night.

I hooked up the 50 watt and the 150 so now I have a total of 200watts . We will see what happens

I now have a multi spectrum lol 200 watts total. I didn’t like how dim the 150 watt was, didn’t penetrate the bottom Canopy to well. I wish I had a par meter to know for sure

Depending on the intensity, and particularly in the UV part of the spectrum, 15 inches might be a bit too close.

If you are limited in headroom, consider supercropping the plant. There's a bunch of info on this site, but right now I cant find a link. Essentially what you do is carefully pinch a section of the stem, working your grip around the stem to try to evenly crush the outer part of the stem, then carefully fold it over and tie it down. The damage will heal in a day or so and growth will continue. this way they are still under the light, just not quite so close.

When I had my 5 foot high tent, I found I had to do that for pretty much every grow.
