My babies are starting to flower, I switched from a 6500k CFL to 2700K CFL yesterday....is this necessary? Will this aid in flower production or should I keep the 6500k or both? Thanks peeps.

Ok, just spent a few trying to find an answer for ya. From what everywhere I went says, you don't HAVE to switch, but, as it is a MMJ plant regardless if it is auto or photo, yes, this does benefit the growth of the buds. Also, a lot of people use both but I didn't see where this is as beneficial as using just 2700k, as there is little to no vegetative growth during flowering. I'm a new grower and this is my first grow, I'm hoping someone with more experience will chime in shortly as confirm/deny or explain better. Hope it goes well!!!

First, when did they start to flower. Are they showing preflower pistols or full flower production and all vert growth has stopped.?

Pre flower pistils, you can see that buds are getting ready to form by the shape. Also since they are autos I'm assuming I'm correct in not having to switch to 12/12 right? Or should I? I'm still a bit nervous about posting pics due to security, but I''ll figure out a way.

I had a 6500k on mine for about 3 weeks into flowering then i switched to a 4000k MH that i had. To me, and i dont know if because it was about the time for them to get bigger, but it seemed like the buds liked the 4000k more than the 6500k. It could have just been that it was time for them to grow but i feel that looking at them every day as i have, more weight has been added under the 4000k than the 6500k. Hope this helps any.
BTW i have a 2100k also but i see people mixing 6500 and 2700 cfls so i figured id try in the middle since (6500+2700)/2= 4600. And yes i know that when you mix light spectrum that it doesnt make both of them one single defined spectrum. Im just a little "different". LOL

Also no need to switch to 12/12. Most seed breeders recommend 20/4 of 18/6.

I have two lamps that are 2700k now and left the 6500k as well. We shall see what happens. Thanks for the info Cal.
