Hi people
thought id throw this in the mix as your all so friendly and help me a lot with my currant outdoors Auto grow.
vast improvement since I first seeked your input.
Getting quit into this growing apart from the possibility of it being able to provide some non chemical prescribed relief from my condition
, also I am finding it very therapeutic too watch it all coming together, so its a double whammy.
Anyway winter coming up and I want to be able to carry on doing this in the form of a closet grow.
As my name suggests I am a total rooky and in my first grow now. so some advice is needed which I know you guys are cool with.
I have a closet (called wardrobe in UK) its 6ft high with 70cmx48cm usable internal foot print.
I plan to line this with either survival blankets or polystyrene for reflection. I have found a T5 unit that's 4 tubes, blue spectrum
59cmx48cm this is planed as my primary light, I also plan to run 2 long T5,s in the corners at the back vertical as I hear fluro
penertration is not great, and I will be slightly rotating the plants daily, 2 autos of undetermined genetics will be in there.
ill also get a fan in ther for air, a small carbon filter down the line if I need it, and the 2 plants will be grown in soil in airpots.
anything wrong with this picture so far?
Also is it best to swap out the blue spec lights for red spec when the plants go into bud? or can I just take them straight through on blue?
cheers peeps!

I would skip the survival blanket and polystyrene as theses in there nature retain heat.

Blank and white sheeting (ebay) is what you want. 2 meters by 5 meters is like 5 quid. Unsure about the T5 lights and there heat output so I cannot help you there. My space was almost the same size as yours but I was unable to mod it to suit my needs, if your able to cut holes top and bottom in your wardrobe to vent the heat and allow fresh air in it will be fine.

Your struggle to totally light seal the wardrobe though if you plan on a dark period in less you cover the front from the outside. Due to the gaps around the doors it can / will invite insects... Its not mattered how much I have cleaned. I have gone to water my plant a few times and shaken the pot only for a moth or two to come flying out lol Lucky no real nasty bugs have taken up residence.

As for smell I have not noticed one plant to badly just keep airing the house and room out daily and its been fine, no one has made any comments to me anyway.

Good luck with your grow, the hardest part indoors for me is fighting the temptation to keep looking at them. :smoke:

Looks pretty good.
White paint will work as your reflective surface also.
The lighting looks good.
I have grown and overseen several grows under 4 bulb t5's and still rely on them for vegging,
But if money is an issue, sacrifice those sidelights and get the fan and filter, unless odor isn't an issue, than you just need to make sure you have an exhaust fan.
Blue spectrums will work fine throughout the grow, but exchanging a couple of the bulbs for red at flower might help your resin production.
You will want to pick strains that are known to branch out, rather than tall to take advantage of the close proximity of the t5

thanks mate, good too hear, the fan and filter are paramount so the side lighting is just a luxery if when they get tall enough and I feel they need it at the time.
Glad you given me the OK for the lighting set up, feel I a on the right path now

My own thoughts on the issue is
More light is better once everything else is in place.
If you have adequate lighting with decent exhaust and odor control you can add lighting when you have the money in pocket.
But I have read too many journals of folks who sacrificed their exhaust or order control for better lighting only to suffer mold from lack of exhaust or had to pull plants because the odor was out of control and they did not have the cash to get it under control immediately.

good call mate, I have found a little carbon filter/fan/exhaust for around £120, (unles I can find cheaper) will be buying same time as light unit.

Im running the same set u are. But i only have 1 4ft t5 light but i do use both specrt. Blue for grow and red for bloom. They dont pack on much heat at all. Becarful with the air pots they are messy well atleast for me they were, im a clean freak my grow cabinet ( wardrobe) is spotless and i still came across pests ( spidermites) if able grab some decent pest repellent i recommended mighty wash is really really safe and boy does it work. Im on my second grow my first grow the buds were so airy i didnt yield much at all 8grams, my second grow is gonna get chopped o friday and they are much more compact im hopeing for a half oz. Try to keep the plants close to the light maybe 6-10 inches from it and as the plant gets bigger eithwr adjust ur light or a smaller stand to keep ur pot on. But u def can grow some killer bud with t5 and ur electric bill will not change at all i run my light 24-7 my bill only goes up 6$ a month more. Goodluck man

check aggroculture think u will get a fan setup cheaper over there.

Please post your setup. Im interested to see your little fan scrubber setup.
