Hi all,

I'm running an 8 bulb Quantum Badboy fixture. My plants have all started to show pistils.

1. When should I switch to flowering bulbs?

2. What is the optimal bulb mix? All 2900K, or keep some 6500K in there too?

Thanks!

Hi Darsh, first off I would not switch yet. Wait until vertical growth has pretty much stopped and then switch to bloom nutes and the 2900K bulbs. I use 3/4 flowering tubes and 1/4 veg tubes at that point. Can't say that I have done any scientific tests on that mix but seems to work for me

i personally wouldnt switch ive used bloom and veg but not in a badboy fixture but they were HO bulds and panel. but if your set on switching id personally do it about the second week or so into flower.thats what Id do anywho.but ive personally gotten better results off just veg bulbs in organics..bulb seemed to lack aggressive growth.id go with a mixed sprectrum or full veg with autos anyways .:Sharing One:

Is there anything from preventing a slow gradual swith? I started all grow bulbs and as I saw flowering begin I started with one bulb switch at a time in my t5 hood as well as cfl side lighting with amazing results... you can click the link in my sig and scroll through the middle of my journal and see exactly how I did it and monitor results there are a lot of pics to see the growth and bulb switch.... hope it helps and good luck
