New Grower Talking Terpenes

Nice find EOF, thanks. Should make for more than a few hours of reading

Terpenes and THC share a biochemical precursor, geranyl pyrophosphate, which develops into the cannabinoids and terpenoids that saturate the plant’s flower tops.

I didn't know that. Good article. That seems like a really key piece of info. Everything I know and love about cannabis can be traced back to that one compound... damn. Geranyl Pyrophosphate. At least it's got pyro in the name. Guess it sounds cool enough.

Anyway I'm a phyrophosphate head. Proud too.

Various extraction methods have their pros and cons. Using hexane or another toxic solvent to extract cannabis oil can leave poisonous residues behind. Critical CO2 extraction, while cleaner, requires expensive, sophisticated equipment and technical expertise. In either case, the extract maker may have to add the terpenes back into the oil concentrate in order to maximize the plant’s therapeutic potential.

Ether is a damn good solvent to use. No joke, but it's hard to come by cause people like to sniff it or something. People are weird, anyway...

They talk about adding the terpenes back into the concentrates... dude, just take some test buds, extract the terpenes and cannaboids and post the results. Eat the leftovers/scientific media. "but if we extract the terpenes your bowl will be ruined!"

Don't worry, there's the whole rest of the plant, plus it's 95 offspring.

gtron is on point.:check: i also (leave) more sugar leaf on the bud, for two reason's, one what gtron said is right, from microscopic study, i have found, more terpinoid's and flavinoid's on sugar leave, than on caylxs. the second reason, they help protect the bud's during the drying and curing process.
keeping them full of trichome's:drool:i also have been trying different drying method's, cutting up the plant and hanging in cola's, and hanging the whole plant, upside down, and i believe that hanging the whole plant also produces a much better smell and taste."My 2 cents":peace:

I pulled this link from another topic here and found a Terp/flaviniod production corelation.that'd be awesome.i'll have a 1,000ml bottle of your trainwreck pleae.LOL! Ive often wondered if you could scrape your sugar leaves and make a scissor type of hash or terp compound that'd be better tthan the usual scissor hash.maybe scrape the sight layers off them below the sugar?LOL!cant wait to try that this harvest.
