Is it necessary to calibrate your meter when you first get it? The company factory calibrates it.

I'm a belt and braces guy, I'll test calibration of all my meters , no matter if some one says they already been calibrated.
This way you have piece of mind and you have done everything possible to make sure you get a correct reading, so there should be no odd readings.

I got some Milwaukee calibration solution with it on the back of the pack it printed as 1382 ppm. If needed I calibrate to that reading,1382 ppm?

Doesn't the cal solution have a large number on it like a six or four?

That stuff is for hydro ppm so what I can read go buy the manual instructions.Soil ph meters are different from ppm meters.

Depends on the meter and if there is a test setting calibration on it. I calibrate every meter right out of the box, even if the company says it does. I also calibrate it before every grow and if I suspect ph being off, first thing I do is recalibrate it. Should recalibrate every month as per most companies suggestions. But Yes, calibrate it often!

I have calibration solution and on the pack it says 1382 ppm but I can't get on the mark. I've been messin with this since 7:30 this morning. It's a little confusing.
