New Grower Temperatures too low when lights off??

Nothing special, just 1,500 watt, 2 speed ones I picked up at WalMart. $18 each. I run them on a timer so they only come on during lights out. When the lights are on the heat from my LEDs is sufficient to keep the temps within range as long as I run that variable speed controller.

Is the hot air being blown out of it dry out your plants?? Or do you face them towards the bottom of your pot to keep just the soil warm?

I actually have them angled toward the wall so they are not blowing directly on the plants. But yes, they are sitting on the floor at the pot level. The pots closest to the heater do dry out a bit faster, so I rotate the pots around daily so they dry evenly.

Anything under 60f slows growth and anything under 50f can slowly damge plant tissue and stop growth completely sometimes this can take anything from 24hours for the plant to recover and start growing again so keeping temps up is important i think.

I agree if the temps get that low you might need some sort of heat.On my original post I was saying not to worry about lights out temps but I based it on mine that only drops about ten degrees.Ishould have asked him what the temps were in his grow area, sorry for the misunderstanding.

yea like muddy i just turn on a space heater. i grow in a tent which is in my room. if its to cold i can just turn on my cheap space heater (just in my room not actually in my tent) and my whole room becomes nice and warm.

then when lights are on my tent warms up so the heater goes off..theyre only off for 4 hours so not that long anyway :smokebuds: my heater is nothing special i have a few just laying around my house for winter im sure it was less than $20. idk if ur grow space is super big or small but if its enclosed a little heater should do just fine

in the space im using i just use an electric space heater set at the desired temp. lights go out, heater kicks in when needed no issues here.

I use a flat space heater..oil filled is good (NO LIGHT!)..and make sure it has a thermostat for temp control and also member to cover any lights on the unit itself for dark time(things i had to do also)and check the temp in dif parts of the tent make sure its even heat throughout

.EDIT. Looked at what Muddy and mjdregba posted and here are some for us in the states on amazon ..looks like it will do what muddys does for less price..ill scoop me up a few soon!

Sorry, but those are not the same. Those are just thermostatic controllers. The one I posted is a variable speed thermostatic controller. It automatically adjusts the speed of the fan rather than just turning a heater on and off. Big difference.
