Not sure if this is the right forum, but I respectfully ask for recommendations/suggestions on what to get. Ihave a cheap, 8 sq'/40 cube' grow tent (4 x2 x5), with two 90watt UFO LED. Ineed a proper intake ventilation fan and exhaust fan/air scrubber setup. My main concern is the exhaust/scrubber combo. I've beenconsidering a 6” combo, but the people at the store say it may beoverkill and to reconsider the 4” combo. Also they said to lay iton the floor of the tent and not worry about overhead heat. What's aboy to do?

Could you give us some more data?

What are your concerns? Heat? Smell? fresh air for the plants? What is the climate in your region? How many plants?

2 of those UFOs are not going to generate a lot of heat....

4" inline for in and 4" exhaust with scrubber and a variable speed controller should handle that tent just fine, but are you going to go bigger at any point in the foreseeable future?
If you are, just get the 6" and throttle it back with the variable speed controller....less noise.

If you plan on utilizing supplemental CO2, you won't want it on the floor...CO2 is heavier than ambient air and will sink to the bottom of the tent....where it would get sucked up
and evacuated as opposed to spending more time in the tent being circulated by clip fans ;)

4x2x5 is 8sq ft. A 4 inch will be perfect my tent is 9sq ft. And 4r does a great job. 6in would be overkill unless u buy a fan speed control which is a extra item you have to buy. And I would not lay it on the floor first thing is heat rises so you want to catch all that and push it out your tent. And second you only have so much floor space if you lay it on the floor your taking away space to put a extra plant.

yeah dont worry about goin to town with ventilation (to a reasonable extent of course) grab a combo, filter and inline fan, off amazon with speed control, if you have a few days to wait. for intake on a space that small you wont need a fan. the exhaust fan should pull in all the air it needs from the inlet on your tent. proper ventilation = safety first = happy camper

...8 sq. ft. of Area (2D), but not volume (3D)...;)...which would be cubed feet?

Thanks trap. But I always thought my tent was 9 sq ft. 3x3x6ft can u fill me in?

Volume of the tent is HxWxD and you want to completely exchange the air every 3 minutes or so (most do it a lot more often to help with heat). This site will do the maths for you and tell you what CFM fan you need:

Thanks guys. I've assumed all thescenarios you've mentioned but don't want to act on my ignorance; I'drather be schooled by and rely upon your collective experience. I'mgrateful.
