I was worried as well lol
Weird.. I haven't seen an auto yet without those fat stem calyxes lol. I just figured all plants had them... But just realized I didn't see them on my few photoperiods so far. Hey pop how long after dusting did you notice the calyxes swell up? Cuz I dusted a bunch a couple weeks ago and I'm seeing nothing different or special yet :/ Starting to think I effed something up haha!
\About a week later I noticed. I've had a couple too though, that looked that way, bit had nothing. Best not to mess with them for 4 or 5 weeks once you dust them. O've onlt done this with one atuo, but after 5 weeks, she started dropping seeds. When I saw that I harvested every 2-3 days until she was spent. I just looked for seeds visually popping out or the calyxes splitting open. But hey, I'm a noob to this part of growing!
Ok cool cool, aren't the pistils supposed to recede or do something funky when they meet pollen? I've been all over the web, and all through all those old "bibles" and somehow everyone leaves out this part of growing and breeding lol! Even the stupid "Cannabis Breeder's Bible" is like: "ok well put the pollen on the plant, don't disturb it for awhile, and in 5-7 weeks you'll have seed!" Wow really, a whole book on breeding and that's the instructions. Gotta be effing kidding me lol. We need a more detailed pictorial guide on what's happening during and after pollination, step by step, by the numbers, Barney style haha.
Some strains or their pistils at least, in my experience react slightly differently and with different timescales after pollination.
But generally - 24-48 hours after pollination, I describe it as the end of the pistil looking 'singed'
Then as the days pass and the pregnancy is in effect, it completely withers and dissapears.
Good request for a set of images though, it's something i'll remember to do during the next rounds of pollination.
