Before I answer everyone one by one, some details about what happened.
I was visiting the garden, no problems so far.
Decided to bring the Hazes into the work space to water them nice and slow.
Went down to the pond to get some water.
As I was coming back up I could hear a drone somewhere, not too close but close enough to hear.
I just tucked myself in back until the sound went away.
I thought I should just leave, but carefully as I'd be outside for a bit before cover.
I also needed to put the Hazes back outside, so did that quickly and then it came back.
Was down on the ground floor at the time, in the darkest place I could find.
It was flying around outside, but up higher than down at my level.
I couldn't see it, but knew it must have been quite close, back and forth.
There was the possibility they may have seen the garden with just two pots when I took the hazes inside,
then seen it 5 minutes later with three pots, and think someone must be at the garden right now.
Was thinking what to do if they fly it into the building itself.
Run or try to smash it or just pretend to be a random person in this completely hard to enter environment?
But they may already have evidence that someone was moving the plants.
Was thinking it was like the episode on YouTube of Brown Dirt Warrior where the chopper is on his patch.
The sound went away after a while.
Or maybe it just landed somewhere nearby to watch??!!
I quickly left.
I wasn't thinking it was LE.
But if a recreational drone user saw the garden they may easily report it.
That I thought I heard them flying back and forth over that small area made me think they must have seen it.
And they may also be inclined to fly there again to get even more footage.
LE here sometimes don't just take the patch.
They set up cameras nearby to find the gardener.

Best of luck. Hopefully some day you will have some sort of legalization in your area. Ive been raided 3 times since I've had my med card. 6 years ago I had a police helicopter that circled my garden for a while then minutes later about 6 cop cars showed up. My med card has definitely paid for itself. I get small planes that circle my property a lot still even though it's fully legal in Michigan now.
I dream of legalization.
Your example of chopper to immediate police cars makes me think even returning to the garden that day could be very risky.
