Hello AFN’ers this is my project for us smokers here in the UK, please have a read and let me know your feedback. It’s much appreciated.
I’m looking to create a holiday space for “like minded people” to be able to enjoy time away from home but sticking to their “normal routine” that you couldn’t stick to on a standard holiday, Even if your visiting from another country.
From my own experiences, I have struggled to go away on a holiday and break away from my “normal routine” due to anxiety, stress and pain. I know others have this problem too, others just want to be able to stick to their “normal routine” as a choice and still be able to enjoy a holiday or break.
Unfortunately not everyone in the UK agrees with this “problem” or “choice”.
In my opinion you should be able to enjoy a holiday and still have your “choice” or a way to deal with your “problem” (wether it be anxiety, stress, pain or any other health problem).
This is where my space comes into play! Doesn’t matter if it’s 1 night or 2 weeks.
I plan on buying a piece of land here in the UK, going through all the legal processes along the way to get it to where I need It to be.
The space will consist of 3-4 lots of accommodation all self catering, with outdoor bbq and seating area. Accessibility will be looked into and worked into at least 1 of the accommodations.
A toilet & shower block (minimum 3 of each) If the accommodation is a static caravan then these facilities are within.
Each of the accommodation will be sectioned off to give individual privacy but also have a communal space for people to socialise (I plan on this eventually expanding to a lodge/building rather than being an open space).
60-70% of the area will be used as a re-wilding area also fruit & veg plots. I plan on bringing in solar panels & wind turbines as soon as possible to reduce the carbon footprint as much as possible.
The plot itself will be gated, bushed/screened off from any eyes at all and WELL away from any main roads or “unwanted attention”.

It’s a BYO kind of thing..
AT LEAST 50% OF PROFITS QUARTERLY WILL GO TO CHARITIES PICKED BY DONORS AND CUSTOMERS AT RANDOM.
All advertising, marketing and booking will be done within trusted communities/websites giving customers peace that the people around them are “like minded”.
**It won’t be advertised on big booking websites to try and keep it as exclusive as possible.**

Legal Fees - £5000 - £10,000
Services (Electricity, Water & Sewage depending on the land some may be already in place) - £10,000 - £15,000
Outdoor Area (Bushes, Screening, Pathways, Planting, Lighting, Security) - £10,000
Accommodation (Pods/Lodges/Caravans, Foundations Including Fixtures & Fittings) - £25,000 - £30,000

£5000 is currently unallocated, I am double even triple checking my lists/spreadsheets and will update other information.
All figures are close to actual costs. Depending on level of items used (fixtures, fittings, soft furnishings etc) (Variations in labour I can’t necessarily help, depending on the plot)
There currently isn’t a time limit on the project. (Sooner rather then later though lol)
