Hi all
I'm a week into my 3rd run. I put seeds in water 24h, then jiffy disks - and 3 of them sprouted upside down - roots up! They pretty much pushed themselves out of the jiffy disk completely, so I VEEEERY gently turned them right way up & put back in the jiffy. They've been in pots now since Frida (3 days) & I appear to have gotten away with it!
Now 1 going like that, I could well imagine it happens, but 3 - & all different varieties?!
Has this ever happened to anyone else?
Thanks

I'm not sure of the origin of this photo or if there's any truth to it since
this isn't really a concern with my method of germination.

Well done Cap'n. That would've made a great pic.
Ay ay Capt! Do you know? I realised that afterwards!
I had absolutely NO expectations & so just didn't think. The best I have are these 2. The pic with just 1 shows the 3rd seed I turned yesterday, in the pic with 4, you can just about see the tails breaking the surface - only 1 of these 4 grew right (& I lost one) We live & learn
Thanks for your encouraging words - have a good one :d5:

Hi OttoCBD - thanks for the pic!
I'd heard this about placing seeds after my 1st run. I (think) I managed it for the 2nd run & this one, but the prob is that up until the hole it's pointy up - although I'm not sure it went in & settled down like that
Thanks again buddy! :headbang:

Most likely you are not planting the seeds deep enough should be 1/2 inch. Jiffy Pellets are peat and are often too low PH <5.5 so be sure to PH the water you soak them in at 6.2.

:vibe:
Hi Mañ'O'Green
It could well be that they're not deep enough. It's also the first time I've used this brand of jiffy disks (they're also smaller that the one I used previously - which leads me to think I mightn't have put them deep enough)
Thanks also for the tip about the pH. I used RO, but you've made me realise I've never actually checked its pH.
Listen buddy - take care & see you around (here, lol)
