Grow Mediums Think Different - 2x MS0006 - AN PH Perfect Grow -=CALCIUM PROBLEMS=-

What a novel idea! I can only take a couple hours at a time with the 2kw of HID light in my face, my room is soooo bright. Thank god for dimmable ballasts

Sorry to threadjack, If your Rental Agent is coming and you need to move her I would say 4 hours is the max I would leave her roots out of her oxygen rich environment, thats just me though. I would def leave space in the temporary bucket for air to seep into the roots

How much water to put in the temporary bucket, just an inch or 2?

I'm thinking the calcium problem was solved with the new nutrients I'm using so I'll PH back up to 5.8 and see if that holds. I haven't had to foliar feed in a week. Thanks for the help!

Guys, I upped the PH back to 5.8 a few days ago and I'm getting yellow spots back so I lowered the PH back again down to 5.6. I will see how they react to 5.7 before I settle on a stable PH to keep it at to keep calcium flowing.

How about flowering time? Do I need to reduce the calcium and up the PH to 5.8?

Hey guys, half way into week 6....plant is at 50cm, should I switch to bloom nutes now? What's the average height of TD when flowering starts? I'm seeing a top cola form so I'm thinking it's flower time, she's also stinkin' more.

So I am guessing everything went ok with the inspection? Also from everything I have read so far the most common practice is to switch to Bloom nutes when the vertical growth has slowed or stopped. So if the ladies havent put on much height in a few days then I would say switch. Week 6 or so sounds about right maybe a little later than most but no harm for sure.

As for upping the PH, you are really doing the best thing which is watching how your plants react to different PH levels. I may have already posted this but I am not sure, this is a Ph chart that I got from Dutch Pro(I think, not positive but I am pretty sure) View attachment 394490 that is why I try and keep my rez at 5.7 or so. I don't know how accurate it is in regard to Phosphurs because I have found that it is available down to 5.7 or lower. At least I can't remember ever having a Phos problem in the past. This is why it is recomended that you let the ph swing from 5.5 to 6.3 or so. I am going to try something new this time. I am going to purposefully let the ph swing, meaning I am going to lower it a little in the morning and then at the night time bring it up a little and repeat everyday. I think it will be a lot more work but the results may be great and I really think it is a good way to prevent any kind of defiecny(at least that is my hope) because there is not really 1 perfect stable pH and I found that in the past i end up trying to fix a deficency and adjusting the pH anyway.

I think I need a RO water filter for the next grow. My background EC is .02. I'm going to prune off the dead/dying fan leaves. This will also open up some light to bud sites.

Behold friends, probably the worst TD grow you've ever seen.

latest news is that I have a rental agent coming over monday to sketch the floor plan of our unit so I have to evacuate the girl into somewhere creative.

She's doing much better after lowering the PH and moving to a different nutrient. Not sure which one was the contributing factor but all new shoots are spot free and nice and healthy.

Now, I just need to dodge the rental agent on Monday. How long will she survive without air pumping in the rez or should I take her out of her rez and put her in an empty spare bucket?

One way she'll drown and another way she'll dry up and shrivel.

She should be okay for about 20-30 minutes from the moment you pull her out of the water and sit her in an empty bucket. I would have a spray bottle close by and lift her out and mist her roots any chance you get, without risking being caught.

Or even better. Put a very small amount of water in the bottom of the bucket.. this will allow the roots to wick some water and it will keep her moist but leave lots of air space in teh bucket that she won't dry up. This way you could get possibly close to an hour.

She lasted 6 hours in her half full rez. Lights and air back on 6 hours later and she bounced back. I'm still having problems with calcium or other deficiencies.

Next rez change tomorrow, I'll PH the water to 5.6 and full dose of cal/mag only for a few days to see if the yellow rust spots clear up or at least stop.
