Would it be better to turn my light off and use my phones flash to take the pictures?

I was gonna say something about that.
Try lights off with flash, or if you can put 'em under regular light for a bit and flash them... just see what works best with your camera.
The closer to true color you can get, the better folks can help.

I bought it based on Aunty Mossy's review, and couldn't be happier with it. Be sure to get calibration fluid (I use the GH 4.01 & 7.0), and though I check it at least once a week my reading so far have been dead on.
And the storage fluid! Some don't use it, but then again some are buying new meters every year. :roflcry:
