Grow Mediums Think Different's First Deep Water Cluture grow

Damn TD she is a beast bro what strain is this the Blue Dream?

Go TD !! looking great !!

Would you mind expanding on the "no rez change" thing? I know a few RDWC fellows who dont do rez changes at all from seed to weed, but rdwc is a whole different game (well... kind of).

Thanks man, I was just adding to it when I asked my buddy what he thinks of doing it this way and he runs under current systems and only changes out water between cycles. He said that when you don't do complete changes it allows certain beneficial bacteria to grow. I have not been able to find much on this but it seems to be working great. I have no bad smell or slim buildup and the roots are healthy and white. The reason I stopped doing them is because the plant is so big it tips over and it is a pain in the ass to do it. This one Blue Dream is hogging a whole 1000watt hood to its self. I honestly cant wait for it to be done because I need more room, haha. I measured it across and it was 5 1/2 feet and its 4' 8'' tall from the net pot. My mistake was not using a build in net pot/lid. which I have purchased some for my next ones. I just keep adding my solution to it and keep a close eye on what's going on inside the bucket. Seeing how its working for me I wil continue to do it this way unless I run into issues.

Thanks bro, yes indeed it is a Blue Dream. So far Blue Dream is the frostiest bud I have grown. I love the smell of them too. I didn't have much variation in pheno's they all pretty much looked the same except this one in DWC has a lot more side branches then the soil ones I grew.

looks great man nice in frosty! I am a little over a week with my first TD DWC grow. how is that bud candy?

I used it in my first grow with the complete Advanced line in soil with great results but this time I am using it with GH in hydro and I have only used it 2 feedings so hopefully I will start seeing some results from it soon. Shes still got 3-4 weeks of feeding before I start flushing. I believe it is best to run Big Bud with it unless you have another bulking nutrient. I use Liguid Kool Bloom so I only need Bud Candy.
IMO it surely does add flavoring. I may try it on one or 2 of my Organic plants and see how it compares to using just Hi-Brix Molasses.

Update. I am currently flushing my DWC Blue Dream with ph'd water and Hi-Brix Molasses PPM @ 300 PH @ 5.9. Water temps are @ 65'. The night time temps have been dropping a little more then I planned for but seems to be bringing out some awesome blue/purple color that I have not seen before in the BD, and frosty as all hell. I have been finishing them with MH instead of HPS. I am waiting for more pictures to upload then I can post more macro bud shots and plant size shots, I have now harvested a few of the tops off it. I have seen a decrease in bud size not running a sealed room with co2 but the collection of THC glands this round are 10x better. I think using Bud Candy and MH light has played a roll in it. Also these buds on the DWC BD are solid as a rock so even though they don't look as big I think they might way more.

More pictures to come in a little bit.

Finally harvested my first attempt at DWC. Everything went well imo and oh my god the frosty goodness. I didn't get the size of bud id hoped for but I think that's because I haven't been using co2, even though I think the weight will still be there because all the buds, even the smaller popcorn ones are rock hard. I will post final weight after its dried. Here is a few photo's of her.
In its last week the dark purple and blue hues really started to show and I used MH the last 2 weeks during flush. nnnnnnnnnn.jpg These 2 were taken a week or so agonnnn.jpgn.jpg I took this photo tonight before I cut the plant down. for 13 weeks in nutrient water with high temps they seem to look pretty healthy imo. Hate to rip them apartllllll.jpg

I am using MH and HPS. What made you change the light back to MH? and when did you do it ?

I am using MH and HPS. What made you change the light back to MH? and when did you do it ?

I switch back to MH when i start my flush or a week before. No more then the last 2 weeks. The MH has more UVB then HPS which makes the plant produce THC. I also run 4 2' UVB bulbs the last 4 hours of the light cycle every day for the last 4 weeks of bloom. If I was running more then 3 1200 watt hoods i would just run both MH and HPS. My plan for my new room is 6 1000 watt hoods in 2 rows of 3 with the 2 middle hoods being MH and the rest HPS. The way my room is set up now I have no good way of setting it up. So seeing how my room is perpetual right now i just change out the bulb over the plants that are starting to finish up then when they are done i change back to HPS. Instead of hoods in the middle in my new room I think i am going to use the dual 600 cool tubes. I have seen an increase in THC using UVB and switching bulbs but its hard to pin point how much cause i have so many changes like nutrients co2 etc. I have been running my room for over a year and i am still just testing and trying new things until i get it dialed in perfect or to where i am really happy.
