Hi,

So on my current round I started using Coco and Megacrop for my grow. I have good results and very happy with this grow, but I would like to have less work to do with the watering. So thinking about moving to Autopots but I have some questions :

- How does salt buildup are manage with autopots? Do you need to do a flush occasionnaly?
- Habitually, how many days passed between reservoir refill? (I'm growing 2 plants)
- I see some person use dripclean. Is this needed with Megacrop?
- I have a 36x36x72 tent. Should I go for the autopot or autopo xl?

Thanks

I presume most users basically "manage" salts buildup by avoiding top feeding. There is no need for it, and I vaguely recall the company/instructions recommended against it.

I presume with AutoPots' bottom feeding, you get salt buildup at the top surface, and there is no problem with this unless you disturb and dissolve it. Similarly, top-feeding results in salts at the bottom surface, and here you wouldn't want to bottom feed after a while.

I'd say if you need to flush, just do it. Being able to do this is a reason to use coco.

FWIW, I had no issues with xl trays and fabric pots - highly recommended. If you don’t want the full size, roll down the tops, which is what I did for n my grow last winter.

- How does salt buildup are manage with autopots? Salts are pushed up into the top of the growing medium. As long as you don't top water you won't need to worry about it.

Do you need to do a flush occasionnaly? No. sometimes I empty and clean the rez when I make the switch to flower, but that's not really necessary.

- Habitually, how many days passed between reservoir refill? (I'm growing 2 plants) I grow in a 3x3x8 tent with 4 plants. Once they are past the seedling stage its usually about a week between rez fills.

- I see some person use dripclean. Is this needed with Megacrop? I'm not familiar with either of those products. I use CX Horticulture nutrients. Their line of products has Regeneroot. I've not used any type of solutions to keep the autopot 'pipe' clean. I do occasionally open the drain tap to let some water pass through.

- I have a 36x36x72 tent. Should I go for the autopot or autopo xl? I grow four plants at a time. I use the XL smart pot system.

You prolly already know this, but I was told to use mineral based nutes with the autopots because the organic stuff clogs up the pipes.

Thanks for the answer. one week between refill is nice! Will surely go with the XL with smart pot on my next round!
