Hello everyone!

I'm about to complete my first ever LED grow, as well as my first indoor grow.

I wish to make a few improvements for my next grow, among which is improved lighting - I'm currently using 17W total. I was looking for 21W LEDs to replace the 10W lights I have now. The 21W lights would make for a reasonable upgrade, but they wouldn't fit the current splitter adapter without having to shave off some of the heatsink from each of them.

Anyway, I stumbled upon this gorgeous contraption: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2014...ull-Spectrum-Flower-Lamp-Free/2028454084.html

Now, I know all the "you get what you pay for" and "beware the Chinese lights", and based on my positive experience so far (looks like I'm actually going to get a yield with 17W of China goodness), I'm willing to take a risk. Mainly because this is the first reasonably high-powered UFO that is under 10" in diameter (9" and up won't fit in my cabinet).

I would like help on deciding what modifications I should request. Should the UFO have UV/IR? How many? Is there some optimal red:blue ratio for LEDs? Anything else?

Check Topled aka Marshydro.... a bit cheaper and prooven to work. I replaced my 400w Hps with that Baby and its working propper. Ir is included in Most Ufos Uvb not really but most of them have Warmwhite Coolwhite on board which makes the same effect on Resin production like the Uvb. Here is one of my Threads with the Topled Ufo https://www.autoflower.org/f149/medic-growers-testlab-mephisto-style-36062-6.html

I have examined their lights previously as well, but nothing they offer is going to fit in my cab properly. This UFO I found I consider to be pretty much one of a kind at this point because unlike most, if not all of the other UFOs it is under 10" in diameter.

Anyway, thanks!

hi there, if you are going to buy a china LED, i think i have a better option for you :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rj2wX3xYT84

this is a china made LED Znet6 300w
you can also search on youtube theres a guy from the US using a Znet4 200w with results, just search "marijuana" "znet4" that one is small enough with 10" but its a square not a circle shape.

not sure if you can find one in your country, i bought one from www.taobao.com (its like a chinese ebay) for less than the UFO you posted, maybe you can find somewhere you can buy online, anyway, happy growing!

Thanks for the help, but that wouldn't fit in the cabinet either. Reason for this is that I need space for a carbon filter n the future and it's gonna be at the same height as the light.

I pretty much found the light I'm looking for already. I just need to know how I should get it customized.

That is a great ufo alminum case will not oxidize that is a good point. They let you choose your spectrum another good point they are concerned about uv and your health. That is a first i have seen that they want you to live anyways so you can keep buying there products. What is the spectrum they offer i do not see it?

Blue 440nm, 460nm
Red 630nm, 660nm
UV
IR

Those seem to be the spectrums.. I don't know if there are separate blues and reds or if it's just something about that long.

In terms of spectrum I was talking are they seven band nine band 10 band usually in a ad for a led grow lights they have that I just did not see that. Ask them they will steer you in the right direction i would suspect say you are growing tomato plants just a thought bro

I have a TopLED 180 watt UFO in my veg cab. I got it for $74 U.S. shipped off Ebay.. Works perfect, couldn't be happier!
