I currently have a single plant in nearly 10 Gallons of soil. The bottom is lined with supposed compost, and topped with three bags of Miracle Grow Seed Starting Potting Mix. I have no plans to nute because of it. Ive also only been using plain tap water. Does anyone think there will be a detriment because of that? Is there anything I should do to help it? It's on day 40 and 9 inches tall. I had thought it would be larger? She is nice and hairy though. This is my first grow and had no idea to check ph or anything so I've been going blind on that as well.

Love hearing your wisdom

You should move your light closer to the plant. I would balance the pH of the water but if it's day 40 and the tap water has been okay I guess it doesn't matter at this point.

DO you know the PH level of your tap water? WHat lights are you using? how far away? I would definitely get some bloom nutes at least.
You NEED to get a ph pen or a strip tester.

I have 4 CFL's 2 2700k and 2 5000k, Normally they are 3-6 inches above the plant but I raised them to take the picture. The water is in an open container so it is allowing chlorine evaporation. Right now her leaves are Dark and beautiful, with no sign of nute deficiencies at the tips, but I'm more worried about size and density of flowers and/or overall.

Man should be way bigger..move the cfls close ..u need some vert growth but i dont know at day 40..is it showing sex? I dont use seed starter anymore and MG i see bad stuff about it and cannibals everywhere but no yellow and no nute burn..i would get some seagrow for veg and flower..its a all in one . no mixing EZ..its weird to see a plant stunted like that maybe a pro can give a reason....at some poin you should get about an inch of growth a day..if not then there is an issue somewhere.

My guess is a wattage issue. Add more lighting, one of the pros can tell you a formula. Good luck.

Looks nice and bushy at least. Even with 23 watt cfls that should be enough to get some more growth. What strain is that, thouhg?

Welcome to the site, by the way. Glad to have you. :D

Thanks!
This place has been invaluable. Im glad to hear from all of you. She's a Critical Rapido and hairs everywhere! So she's into her flowering (10th leaf set, i heard that they flower after 8?). For the first two weeks the lights were fixed to the top of the container which is nearly three feet from the plant. I have seen a lot more growth now that I have fixed the lights. Which are 4 Aero tech evolution bulbs. The 2 reds are 25 watts, and the blues are 20's.

So that's 90 watts for the one plant. Not bad, although I don't know anything about those lights. Is that an Auto I suppose? With a bit more light and some bloom nutes, I bet she'll fatten on up. :D
