New Grower Thoughts on a unique situation?

Looks good. Been waiting to see someone do a grow in a 'super pot.'

Can you keep this post going with updates and photos.

9" is not a stunted height. Plant is semi-bushy and has the start of several colas.

Looks like you have good air circulation etc.

Have you considered (maybe you are doing it already) pumping some oxygen into the water.

Just thinking with 10 gallons of soil the air exchange to the roots will be difficult. I am going to try 5 gallon smart pots, soon, and will do so.

Flowers are important not the height. Looks like it will run longer than breeders low ball estimate.

I had also gently toyed with the idea of adding worms. But then I'd have to put in food for them right? I feel like putting food (apple core, orange rinds, possibly some powdered eggshells?) in my plant is a bad idea. If I had more than one plant I'd be willing to experiment.

Im thinking that they're going to be ready at about week ten or eleven, which I'm finding is a much more realistic number in general.

P.s. My room has started to become very...fragrant, as of late. :gthumb:

Go ahead and pick up an airstone, to hook up to your air pump. It will do a good job aerating about 5-10 gallons of water. I use a double output pump, with 2 eight inch airstones, for a 42 quart kitchen trash can, filled with water.

Hey everybody! So i was worried that my plant had been stunted but am now realizing it is just a week behind schedule, which, while unfortunate, isn't as bad as I thought.



As you can see she's doing pretty well, It's day 47 but it I'm just starting to see the larger spurts of growth. Which lines up pretty well with the week ahead of time theory.

I finally broke down and decided to ad some nutes after much research and fear of losing potential yield. This was supposed to be an economy grow, so I found a pretty low budget recipe and modified it to fit my situation. Right now I have 3 tbsp of molasses and a tbsp of epsom salt mixed in to a half gallon of water. Once every four waterings, I'll add four ounces of the tea, chased with some, now well aerated, water.

For the first two weeks the lights were fixed to the top of the container which is nearly three feet from the plant.

That could be why you may not have gotten optimum vertical growth, but the plant looks fine. You have 4000+lumens, which is well above the 2500 minimum. As you stated, this is an economy grow, so you really shouldn't expect optimum results but it looks like you'll get some good bud.

Thats the just the concentrated tea in addition to a watering, so it would be more dilluted.

So I got a ph tester today and I don't know about you guys but I would say that that looks like a low 6 to me. :check:

Because my time table is off I was wondering if any one knows if there's a general leaf set that vert. growth stops at. Right now my 13th set is pushing out and she's stretching like crazy. I was hoping for like 16/17ish?
