The Vero 29 and the CXB3590 have very similar spectral characteristics. They do differ in a couple of respects:

1. Cree does binning, whereby they test the COBs during the manufacturing process to assess lumen output and efficiency. This code is called a bin code - we purchase top binned Cree CXB3590. Vero29 are not binned.
2. The Vero 29 COBs we use are a high efficiency COB, running at 100 watts/COB vs 50 Watts/COB in the case of the Cree, generating very similar efficiency. This makes the Vero29 lights a slightly better value as they require less materials for the same power output.
Excellent reply thank you Dan!

hi and welcome @RainDan :pass:
what would you recommend for a 50x100cm cupboard that would have 3 plants in it at say 2,5,8 weeks old ?
cheers

@RainDan when you get caught up can you explain what a customer might get when he or her calls Timber with a question about a light and what happens once a customer makes an order?

@RainDan 3x 3 & 4 x 4 are some of the most popular sizes of grow tents, what would you recommend to our members to light these tents?

Hello @RainDan good to have you here :pass:

I got a question for you like the native Americans that used every part of the Buffalo :D I disassembled an old mars reflector series led and I have 8 of these can i use them to save some cash when I build a cob light for my 2'x4' grow box?

Hello @sniper
Good question - and we get that question a lot - there are ways to reuse parts of the Mars units in COB retrofits. Judging by the specs printed on the driver, for instance, @ .6A output you should be able to drive 1-2 COBs and create about 50-100 watts.
