I have been reading around and coco coir works just as good as hpoo if you add a bit of coffee to the mix. im looking at a recipe that calls for 5 qts of spawn grain per brick of coco coir. I will be making 20 quart jars with inoc ports along with 10 half pints for liquid cultures. going to inoc 5 lc's and then transfer to 2 wbs spawns through inoc ports. that way i can find the contaminated lc's i only need 10 qts of spawn to do 2 full batches so i think i should be ok. I am getting the last of my supplies that i need for an incubator and i will start up operations as soon as the injection ports come in that i ordered yesterday. now i just need to look up how to properly prepare my other syringes for transferring lc to grain and im set. bulk coir buckets are loaded in open air with the spawn since the spawn will be hard to contaminate and the coir has been pasteurized the myscilium have a huge jump start on contaminates. I will spawn whatever i have to to get 8 shoe boxes full of substrate and keep those going while i start over on the grains with the liquid cultures that i will still have in the fridge after testing for contaminants. looks promising and with 20 grain jars im sure to get at least 10 even if im horrible and get half of them contaminated. I will then be drying and blending into powder to put into capsules. 00 caps hold .5 g of powder on average so its a decent way for me to package for even dosing and easy storage in bottles. Long term you can freeze the caps too.
