I am getting a license from Health Canada to grow commercially in a warehouse. I need a definitive answer from people who know: I need to grow 5 strains and want them to be the TOP 5 HIGHEST YIELDING ones. What are, without a doubt, the top 5 for yield? Note: using a great HPS setup with other optimal conditions. If you KNOW the top five or top 4 or 3, etc, please, please let me know. Thanks.

Top five for yield... and your growing for people's medicine? Also this forum specializes in autoflowering plants, so are you looking for photoperiod plants? You might be on wrong track. Hope you consider quality of genetics and not just yield. Maybe look for a sativa dom, an indica dom, a hybrid, a high cbd variety, and one high yield variety... best of luck seek the big bud family for yield alone.
I've heard of one grown that gave 120g a plant. And it was high quality. I am guessing there must be 4 other strains. Using AFs would make the operation so much easier. Are you saying that AFs are lower in quality than just feminized seed? I'm new; your ideas?
iam sorry normally i am very receptive to give advice, It looks like you more into cash cropping then proving quality medications to your patients that will need it...... If you were growing medical, you need to find out what strains will help with whatever condition your patient has.... Not worrying about how much you can pull in one crop... I don't mean to be rude but do you even know the difference between a cash cropper and a medical grower? It just seems your knowledge of growing is not up to par to provide quality meds....

Also depends on growing method not just strain. You plan to use soil, soil less, pure hydro....etc? In my opinion on a warehouse grow, wouldn't the added expense of electricity due to light times (autos need more to produce more generally speaking), air conditioning (to counter more light heat), seed expenses (you cant clone them for your next batch), kind of dig into the profits? (assuming you are profit oriented, sorry if you are not). Im not trying to say that autos arent viable for any of that, but the way you asked seemed like you wanted to cash in as much as you could in a cycle. Yield is yield, quality is where the MEDICAL comes into play.

Hi Shrink, lets assume you choose some top yield strains and perform well while growing. The clinics want to buy based on the medicinal value and the known popularity of the strain. The product has to move off the shelves or they won't come back to you.
If you contacted the clinics in your service area, they would tell you the strains they want to buy and the money they will pay.
Once you have a list of in demand strains, then look at the details of the selected strains to determine which are best for your business plan.
Advice to you, it easy to go broke if you are not careful. Medicine in demand will sell, weed that gets you high will need to go the black market method with all the ugly things associated with the black market.
We are not being negative here, the posts above are worried about you growing non medical strains as a business. Make no mistake, not all cannabis strains have medicinal value.

As far as I am aware there are about 6 or 7 companies at the moment that have been issued a license, the last company was joint venture between Bedrocan and a private Canadian company. Bedrocan have been growing legally as a supplier to the Dutch government for 13 years. They are a major company for medical cannabis... It was set up by two brothers who grew before they formed the company. They didn't just say hey Nev what strains are the biggest yeilders the government has given us a license to grow.. they now have Dr. Arno Hazekamp (what a fucking cool name) as head of R&D... "Dr Arno Hazekamp is a phytochemical researcher at the Department of Plant Metabolomics of Leiden University, The Netherlands. Maybe if you throw enough money at HC they will just give you a license... but I am pretty sure they are not just handing them out like candy ...

Shrink. AFN is, fundamentally, an international hobby/enthusiast autoflower grow site. Many if not most members are interested in medical aspects of canna.
We may have a grower or two involved in Canadian canna operations. Though, I have never encountered one here.
To be frank about obtaining strain info. it will be more important for you to get involved with Canadian Grow Associations. There are several. In addition, you may "as a prospective producer" find better information from legal large scale canna growers/operators.
Of course, many would be willing to assist you if you were looking for a strain for yourself and described the effects and characteristics you needed.
CBD is lab tested in Colo. and Cal. Search the internet or better yet find a marijuana consultant in Canada a country teaming with high quality growers. Your decisions need to be based on what Canadian medical patients need and want.

Please restrict your comment to links if you care to provide meaningful feedback. Otherwise, no one here is in a position to suggest strains for specific conditions etc. in Canada, unless, they are licensed growers. I would if a producer hone in on specific strains for one or a few conditions or symptoms, until, I got a feel for the Canadian's new med. canna system.
