Lighting TOPled The Manual.

Mine was like 338, I'm going to have to check it again. I was a little disappointed in that.

Got my Light! This thing is Huge...lol! I've got it hung in the growroom and set to just veg lighting. Power draw when set to veg is 238.4 watts. A quick reading when set to flower was 370.8 watts. I'll post pics tomorrow. I'm going to build a bracket to mount this light and my two, 300 watt old style lights so that I can run all three during flower for my photoperiod plants. That wiould bring my total actual wattage to 750 watts for the growroom.Maybe for this first trial, i'll run it by its self for one grow just to see what I can do with it.

Super jealous Pop. I ordered mine February 14th, but there were some issues with shipping to Alaska. This is normal and I expect it. Everyone thinks Alaska is another planet, so they charge you accordingly. But my communication with Lucy was fairly good, and everything got worked out when they all got back from there holiday. Chinese new year everything shuts down for a week or so from what I understand. So no worries here, glad you got your light

Glad to hear you got your light Pop. Just to give you an idea of what you might expect, I have the 96X3 so the next one down from you, and I'm currently flowering 2 autos and 3 photos with it with zero issues, and the photos are getting massive. Have you noticed a difference in the quality of light with both veg and flower turned on vs your other lights?

With just the veg lights on, the light seems almost white and a bit more intense. With the flower lighs added DAMN that thing is bright...lol! Looks to be a tad more red than my 300 watt old style. I've got it ove a BBH Durrty Dragon thats big already and I think is going to be huge, so the light will get a good test! This one light actually covers the 4ft x 4ft space perfectly so it should be great for a SCROG.

Hi, I'm a new member here and have really enjoyed reading the information in this thread (though I haven't read all 41 pages yet!)
I have a question about which Mars lights to buy for my tent which is 2.5ft x 2.5ft x 5ft (or 80 x 80 x 160 in cms). I plan to grow 4 autos in soil in 10in pots so there should be enough room.

Obviously height might be a problem with LEDS. Initially I was planning on a Mars2 400W (190W actual draw) but after reading some of the comments here now think that might my tent might not be high enough.

Alternatively then I thought that a Mars 600W (330W draw) - and which is about the same price as the Mars2 - might be better. Now I'm thinking I might only need a 300W (180W draw), that would seem enough for vegging but would it be enough for flowering? I could get 2 x 300W (also about the same price as the mars2 400W) and just add the 2nd one for flowering.

What do you guys think? I read somewhere that you need about 45-50watts per square foot. My tent is 6.25 sq ft so the Mars2 would only give 31W per sq ft, 2 x 300W would give a massive 57W per sq ft .

Any advice from those who've grown with either the Mars2 400W or the (Old) Mars 300W/600W would be much appreciated as the more I read the more confused I seem to get.

There's a thread in the AFN Market Place forum sponsored by Tina, a Mars Hydro sales rep. You might want to copy this and repost it in her thread, you'll definitely hear from her an others. It's called "tina from Mars Hydro Live ". I'd post a link but it wouldn't work for you because of a low post count from being new. She can only respond in her section there. And by the way, Welcome to AFN.

Their 144 x 3 reflector would cover that area too, if you haven't seen that one.

I was asking exactly the same question some month ago.
Went on Mars-Hydro website, found the contact email and started the talk with Mars-Hydro Tina.
She suggested Mars II 700W for the same space as yours, and I was planning on buying 400W unit.
Going for 700W one, was the best decision I have made about LED lights.
The Mars-hydro customer service is excellent ,they will edvice you and explain if you have any questions
Go for it....
