Extraction Torch Recommendations

Hey Guys!!

Been smoking bud for a loooooooooong time and up until a few years ago, hadn't know about vaping bud and I had smoked hash before but never concentrates, until I started growing, about 4yrs ago.. I've tried a few methods and have really fallen in love with my small glass rig.. Today, I suffered a loss of my torch, and although I can run to Home Depot and pick up a shitty $10 torch, what are you guys using? Does it really make a difference? I've watch a bunch of videos and I see a lot of folks rocking these torches that are over $100 which to me is crazy, unless it's worth it.. Are e-nails really worth it?? I've done quite a bit of reading of blogs, forums and threads, but I get mixed results..

I'll throw a few cents in here...a torch is just a torch .i have a few overpriced stok torches..my newest came from amazon valuclub and cost 3 dollars..all rhe options of the stok but pennies compared to the stok price,not my intention to put the stok in a bad light,but there comes a point when they will all need replaced and why spend unnecessary money...hold on and ill add a pic of the two...

in my mind a torch is a torch.
is an e-nail worth it ? if you exclusively smoke concentrates,and have sessions of a few hours then an e-nail is well worth it.allows you to play about with temps.
i only wish i had enough concentrates to justify spending on an e-nail.

Bonjor Professional Cooking torch from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. About 30-40 bucks most of the time. Essentially it's the same torch as a Vector at a price that's about the cheapest going for torches that size. (that I've found, at least)

Awesome input!!!! My biggest motivation is that I had a Lenik (sp?) that didn't even last 2 months of dabbing before it shit itself and I had to run it outside while the tank purged the freshly filled butane.. I almost thought I was going to see some sort of rupture or accident!!!!!


I am really sort of looking more for reliability than anything.. I mean, fire is indeed fire, and almost all of them produce the same blue flame, but I want one that's not gonna leave me stranded when I've got 5g of concentrate I just made.. Talk about a buzz-kill!!! lol

One thought to add....there is something to be said for the lifetime warranty on the Vector torches. I have one that I bought at a head shop, and picked up the Bonjour when it started having problems. Sent it into Vector (you have to include like 5 bucks for return shipping, but that's it) and they fixed it up and sent it back no questions asked. The torches can wear down over time with heavy use. The Bonjour is kind of at the cheap enough price point to me that it's replacable if it ever konks out, but something to think about. :smoking:

I love me a warranty, especially on mechanical/intricate things that I couldn't even begin to fix!!!!! I'm gonna check the Vectors out, although I will admit, the BBB is about 3min from my house, so that may end up being where I go in the mean time!!!!


As for having enough concentrate; After producing a fair amount lately, I've been extremely tempted to convert almost all of the dry herb I have into concentrates because the stuff just works SOOOOO much better than dry herb.. Even holding my hits in forever, doesn't have the same effect as a slow, bubbling rip from an oil rig!!!! Kinda reminds me of the first time I took a gravity bong hit w/ a 1gal milk jug..

Wow, I guess they do appear very similar!!! I just ordered a Vector and picked up a Bernzomatic from Home Depot until the Vector gets here..


As for asking about the e-nail; I'd been seriously considering transitioning to ONLY concentrates, so I guess it might make sense for say, weekends, when I am indeed smoking/vaping all day.. I can't believe how expensive they are!!!!!

buy a rosin press,get 2 e-nails for free.then get the coil as an add on,and you in business.
