Indoor Trans Siberian Journal

I installed the Vent VK 150 6inch today, I have not put the filter in as i have no odor issues ( well i have but the plants don't !!), without the filter is a good noise test, on full noise is quite loud in the room but bearable however outside the room it is a gentle hum audible through a wood door and virtually quiet through interior walls, so neighbors should have no issues. So with the carbon filter on I am sure i will be OK. No forced air in at the moment, seems OK i will see how it goes, there does seem to be a fairly healthy amount of air from the exhaust and the tent collapse is minimal so there must be a decent passive airflow else where would all the replacement air come from.

Quite pleased with the noise considering they sent me normal ducting instead of acoustic, the noise from the ducting is far less thamn the fan, i thought the whoosing from the ducting was supposed to be very bad

I have to see if my temps drop too much and check the effect on humidity which i want fairly high for veging 50 % RH +

Week 2 Day 11

Fan in place, taping done by our local firm "Bodgeit and Scarper" I wil redo this !! Bloody Pirates !!

Having raised the lights and the fact that airflow is now lowering temps ( 79 F 45 RH with doors closed) I hope to see an improvement in the leaf curl, not sure but it seems to look better pics 8 9 and 10, there seem to still be some brown edges but i think that is not reversible, as long as it stays under control. Of course if it is also overwatering then i will have to wait for dry out. This Biobizz light holds water well and even when "dry" feels damp ( I have some unused unwatered in a pot and it does feel damp"

These temps 79F ( OK I have a fan controller running at about 75 % I get about 77F on 100 %) make me wonder what temps will be like when i use the HPS ( can't tell as i have not bought it yet) I will be using a cooltube and the HPS will be farther away, perhaps then i will need an active input fan with cool air from..oh God knows where, I can see the house looking like Frankensteins Lab soon... ...... bloody hell I am even dreaming about this now - on a regular basis !!! I must have CGS - Compulsive Growers Syndrome. I haven't even had a pint in 3..Yes 3 bloody weeks to save money to pay for all this, so Im really going cold turkey right now. When I was at UNI in the 80's i went 2 weeks for charity and raised over £100. I am ( or was ) a heavy drinker !!

Tell you what:
Herb for my wine; (ooh-wa-da-da-da)
Honey for my strong drink; (ooh-wa-da-da-da)
Herb for my wine; (ooh-wa-da-da-da)
Honey for my strong drink.

I shake it easy (takin' it easy);
Skanky, take it easy (skankin' it slow);
Take it (takin' it easy) easy;
Take it (skankin' it slow) easy;
Take it easy (takin' it easy);
Oh-oh-ooh! (skankin' it slow);
Little bit easier (takin' it easy);
Skanky, take it easy (skankin' it slow).
Take it easy! Take it easy! Take it easy!

Ooh 21st !!!

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane -
Lenny Bruce is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn -
world serves its own needs, regardless of your own needs. Feed it up a knock,
speed, grunt no, strength no. Ladder structure clatter with fear of height,
down height. Wire in a fire, represent the seven games in a government for
hire and a combat site. Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry with the furies
breathing down your neck. Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered
crop. Look at that low plane! Fine then. Uh oh, overflow, population,
common group, but it'll do. Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its
own needs, listen to your heart bleed. Tell me with the rapture and the
reverent in the right - right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright
light, feeling pretty psyched.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign tower. Slash and burn,
return, listen to yourself churn. Lock him in uniform and book burning,
blood letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate. Light a candle,
light a motive. Step down, step down. Watch a heel crush, crush. Uh oh,
this means no fear - cavalier. Renegade and steer clear! A tournament,
a tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives
and I decline.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

The other night I tripped a nice continental drift divide. Mount St. Edelite.
Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Breshnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You symbiotic, patriotic,
slam, but neck, right? Right.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine...fine...

(It's time I had some time alone)

Is there a way to u/l vids here ? Just thought it would make a change and show the vent system and it's sound levels. maybe I could zip one up..man !!!

Week 3 day 16

Update mainly to add a vid showing my ventilation and it's noise levels hopefully i can attach a zip file of this.. no too big so i will put it on a friends web site so you can download it

Hoping the plants will start to stretch soon, read somewhere that growth really kicks in at week 3, they look like coiled springs at the moment

Just gave one a foliage feed (mist spray) with formulex 1/4 strength and some organic detergent as a wetting agent....hope all goes well !!!

Another update..hope i am not boring you all but as i learnt my growing by scouring the net for other TS grows I thought this may be useful for those who have yet to do a TS grow.

Week 3 Day 18

A lot of growth but not so much vertical, it seems from other grows that TS holds back then explodes and this seems to be the case with my babes, there is a lot of sprouting and the plants are becoming really bushy, getting to be like a tropical rain forest under the canopy....can't wait till they let loose the dogs of war !!

I fed them today, i liter each at 1/4 dose ionic grow and I mist them every other day with formulex at 1/4 strength. Keeping temps around 80F and 45-50 RH

I am thinking of using a MH for the last couple of weeks of Veg, not sure, but as i will be buying a HPS cooltube kit next week i will also buy a MH for my next grow, so i may as well make some use of it for this grow. At the moment with this dense foliage i think it may be of use now.

There are a few spots which may have something to do with nutes but as they are so few i am not going to freak out trying to adjust for them. It seems that others have suffered from the nute fix spiral ( give more to fix a believed deficit..find you have over nuted..flush..find nutes were not the issue..add nutes..pull hair out..kick dog..beat wife..become an alcoholic....)

FYI here is a chemical breakdown of TS actives, not sure how accurate it is..but worth a read. It makes me a bit concerned as I am not that fond of the screaming, blow the back of your head off, anxiety effects of a high THC/CBD ratio and it looks like this may be the case with TS. But time will tell

http://www.micannalytics.com/results/sample.php?sampleid=113541&dispensary=247

Curiously this is direct from auto seeds the creators of TS

Strain Info

What is your most powerful strain? All of our strains are specifically bred to give the greatest results when used. In terms of strength there are different types of active compounds present that have different effects depending on the percentage content and ratio.>

Highest THC – Trans Siberian, Ultra Lemon Haze.
Highest CBD – Trans Siberian, MiG-29.
Trans Siberian has a long lasting and powerful almost sedative stone
Taste and smell is typically Indica, with a pungent skunky fuel aroma that White Russian is renowned for. Trans Siberian delivers an outstanding high for an auto variety, both deep body buzz with a narcotic head stone
So they seem to be saying that the Indica (80% Ind 20% Sat) will offset the high THC levels giving a strong but rounded high, hope so !!!

Week 4 Day 22

Well growth is strong. still bushy this may be the strain or the CFL's or a combination of both. Fed them yesterday with 1/4 strength grow at i liter water each, i may start upping this

Also gave them 1 tablespoon of blackstrap molasseses per 4 liters of water

A couple of plants are showing leaf issues (burn ?) I think is is due to the misting and i will cut back on this and maybe mist them when they are away from the lights, let it evaporate them put them back under full light. As it is not occurring on all plants i am sure it has something to do with misting and light burn.

I have also noticed that my soil ( peat moss etc) is settling very low, the small plant at the front is not that small, the soil has settled very low. for future grows i will take this into account and fill the pots up to their brims at start.

So far I am happy with the progress, no sign of flowering yet
