Week 6 Day 38
Well a lot going on, to me that is. We are at a turning point and I am in 2 minds which way to go. As you can see from the growth graph we are still getting a steady and predictable increase however i am noticing, what i think, are signs of P and/or K deficiencies. this would seem logical since there is a lot of flowering going on.
I have decided to introduce some flowering nutes and also keep veg nutes up as there also seems to be some lower leaf yellowing, probably a nitrogen def..
Thing is these girls are still producing preflowers !! Not sure if that is clear in the photos but virtually every nodal junction id developing a flower and that are all stages of development. It will make harvesting a tricky one as flowers will be weeks apart in their life cycles. But I would think that would be a happy problem !!
As far as the male issue i had, i was wrong, they were not pollen sacs they were new flowers emerging !!
I am going to stick with MH blue as the main 24x0 light for at least a week but tonight i am adding red cfls at the sides from midnight to 7.00 am ( cheap elec), I then may go 24x 7 HPS with Blue CFLs at sides then all Red.
how i will handle flushing and a dark period at harvest time is going to be tricky as the flowers will be in different stages of maturity, i think i will have to forgo a dark period and just cut the ripe flowers and maybe let them rest their stems in clean water for a while ( as we would do with normal cut flowers). Any ideas ?
here are some pics, as you can see i am getting trichomes on some flowers whilst at the same time new flowers are just emerging on the same plant. Edit messed up the graph axis, day 16 should be day 38 from soil breakthrough
