Radio shaak sells a 100 power microscope for about 15$ When you turn the little wheel to focus and get a clear view ,the difference between clear and milky or cloudy becomes easily identified ,even at different angles they don't change. Make sure you are looking at the little bulb on the top not the stem. Some may have stems and no bulb on the end and these may not turn cloudy. If you dont have a radio shaak, check the internet like amazon.com.

Good thread, as I move towards my first harvest in about 4 weeks hopefully.

I've seen one experienced grower who swore by harvesting when they're still cloudy, and not "hanging" your buds to dry, but standing them upright somehow (so that gravity doesn't do its thing on the residue etc..,).

So, not sure you can "go wrong" by harvesting a plant that "appears" to be fully done, which of course is tougher if you haven't done it before yourself. :)

Can i just necro this thread to say ... yes, it difficult to see what my trichomes are doing as a first timer. If they glisten I assume they're clear but I'm coming up on day 70 and can't believe there are no cloudy trichs in there
