Grow Mediums Truu's 600w HPS CoCo DIY drip system.

Hey Skatter- I never had any problems with my recirculating method. Just calcium problems late in flower, but that was because I backed off on the calcium. I could never really measure any accurate readings of ppm once it began to recirculate. I would just make a new res every time it ran out of water. I think the key to recirculating is to allow the feedings enough time to properly flush the soil every time. My feedings were 15 minuets long so the coco was flushed every time with fresh oxygenated nutrients. This grow will be different because I bought a digital timer that allows me to do feedings at a minimum of 1 min. So this grow will be a little more like DTW. My first update will tell all the information on this. I will be doing the update later tonight.

Observation of plants growth- The second set of leaves came in a little gimp. I was watering her to much so she got slowed down a few days. Reduced feedings to 1 time a day for 2 min. Medium is starting to dry out faster so I will be able to up feedings soon. Gave strong dose of root juice.

Other thoughts- Weather outside has been cold but my temps have stayed solid. Exited for these next 2 weeks as that is when coco will start to shine. Smoked a bowl of some blueberry x white widow and its a great high at any time of the day. :smoke:

Hey Truu I just got on this site for the first time in a long time. Your design is really cool, but if you added one thing I think you'd be perfect and doing what many others are doing and killing it! Have you heard of a PPK? Check out icmag in the vert section; basically same thing as what you're doing but there's a tailpiece sticking into the res, and the media wicks up the nutrient solution even if your pulse feed stops working. Benefit is that nothing dies in a pump failure. Also the gurus over there seem to say that no need to oxygenate the res w/ an air stone, which could save you some watts.

Finally, I've been keeping my temps around 78, humidity at 70% through the stretch and then 50% thereafter and it has been working wonders for me. Literally growth rates must have increased by at least 50% (or so it seemed to my eye) when I got humidity in check. Read more here:

Observation of plants growth
- Shes growing a good rate now. Seems that her count of leaves are a bit off. Number of blades arent matching for each set. Increased nitrogen. And increase feedings to twice a day today.

Other thoughts- So far everything is going quite well. Shes about to take off and get big. Hoping she can take the increase in feedings well the rest of the week. I'm making small res's so I can frequently increase her feedings and to keep fresh nutes in the res.

Hello AFN family. It's time to do a little update. This BHD is currently being chopped down. I think it's around day 85 From seed. She is a very high quality smoke. It was another easy grow with BHD. Only problem I had was that she was small. Flowered very early and I think this didn't allow her to get to her full potential. However she still packed on some major weight for her size and she is full of trichs.

This will be my last auto grow for a while. Great things are on the horizon and I've got tons of info I want to share with you guys. I've learned a good bit this past year with coco and I've got my setup dialed in. More details later to come.

Enjoy the pics of my BHD harvest. I'll type up some good info later tonight. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg
