Grow Mediums Uh oh...didn't put pebbles in the bottom of my Autopot...am I doomed?

I use 100% coco and it works great.

I used clay balls on my first grow and had ph problems in my trays. Next 3 grows haven't used clay balls and from these results I'm getting I would never use clayballs again just coco and perlite

Interesting. I put in all coco and about 15% hydroton in my latest potting mix. No perlite. And no special layer of hydroton at the bottom of the pot. I'll have to keep an eye out.

And Pops says the hydroton bottom layer is actually a detriment to wicking performance.
