I recently found out my BioBizz All-Mix was very alkaline (pH 8). Turns out it might be because I had stored the bag in the warm grow space.

Anyway, I already bought some local soil that's supposed to be pretty ideal for cannabis save for the lack of perlite (I'm going to add 25%) as I couldn't find any reputable organic soils anywhere having decided to avoid BioBizz at least for the time being.

Will I be able to achieve somewhat comparable results without compost and whatnot by using BioBizz nutes? Not that I've achieved anything special with a pH of 8 so far.

Yes ... as long as you didn't get a pre-fertilized soil you should be OK ... I'd mix a couple handfuls of the all mix in w/ the other along w/ the perlite ... Bio bizz nutes do a pretty good job w/ ordinary soil ... wait til it's at least 10 days old to fertilize ...

The soil is moderately pre-fertilized (something along the lines of 50-30-200). Would that cause problems and in what form?
I didn't mix All-Mix in it for fear it would mess up the pH which is perfect at about 6.2 (my water pH is close to neutral). I had to flush the current plants for AGES with water pH'd down to just under 4 to make the soil under 7. What a nightmare! :rolleyes1:

if they are at least 3 weeks old they may be able to handle pre fertilized but 50-30-200 sounds awful high ... the problems that can cause is too much fertilizer leading to stunting and death ...

From what I've heard it's good for every stage of growth for cannabis plants. I've actually used another kind from the same manufacturer that basically just has double the nitrogen. It was alright even though I didn't even have perlite in it back then. Definitely not too hot.

I'm going to prepare my outdoor plants for the summer in this soil which should give me a pretty good idea of its suitability. Thanks!

well me personally id take a PH reading and then do a tester planting of a few random photo beans and see how they germ.that will tell you where you need to go with your mix man.spot on.works for me anyways everytime with a new mix is 5 or six small pots and the soil and some average bag seeds or reg photos ya have to either waste or just use as a guidance.always served me well.and with a compost/soil thats pretreated id ask with what and if those numbers are anything close..?thats insane.lol. for a regular ole worked compst..what was he using it for?prolly work exzcellent ya may have to thin it a little with some coco and a few cheap additives.but nothing heavy.Id love to get ahold of a bag of bio bizz and work it lightly and see how it works.my dealing with it are very limited.mostly word of mouth.sounds like theyre sorta like FF soils or similar really to anyone.a lot buying and the resources are pushed out further.and atleast alkaline is typically easier to work imo.anywho, stoned n rambling.sound like a winner if ya ask me man,
