New Grower usps sort facility in ny sits on international mail for days

After my t shirt from attitude arrived in sort facility in isc new york on 10/17/12, I didnt get another tracking until 10/26/12 from bethpage ny.
msg sd same thing as on 10/17 "processed thru sort facility". Now on 10/27/12 got tracking message " depart sort facility. "

And package has yet to go to Customs in Chicago for clearing. (I live in mid west.)
I did some looking on google and many complaints from international importer regarding mail being delayed at sort facility in NY. usps could learn a thing or two from UK Royal Mail.

my package took 2 weeks after leaving isc new york (i live on east coast).. still came tho.

Waiting a package myself I suspect is camped out in NY. Didnt do tracking so I cant verify where it is, but I am glad you started this thread. I feel certain I am experiencing the same problem.

for some reason the us mail here is always very fast, i had an online business for three years and they were the only carrier i would use unless a customer specifically requested ups. they only lost maybe three packages that whole time and the flat rate boxes get there fast. i had a large flat rate get from the southeast to hawaii on the third day. shipping anything to the northeast always took a little longer. of course that's domestic but the only tshirts i ordered from attitude gifts took around two weeks for the first two, then i had the last one take like eight days it came a lot quicker

update: I got my package today on 10/29/2012. Once it left sorting facilty in NY on 10/27/12 it arrived at my citys sorting facilty on 10/28/12 per tracker.. and I got it the next day. moved fast once it got out of the sorting facility bottleneck. now I can relax and wear my T shirt, it has a pic of an ornrey looking lady smoking a spliff with the word Mary tatooed on her ass!!
