Harvest & Curing Vacuum seal ...

Ive used the smaller packs, they have been in the jars for 4 months or so with no leakage detected. Might not be a bad idea to put the bags at bottom of jars in case one would leak, then it wouldnt damage much product anyway. I havent broken the seal on them yet, but everything looks great. Im also interested in long term storage, specifically for larger quantities of herbs. Ive read that vacuum bags in the freezer isnt recommended, but is there a better way to store for say 5+ years?

Vacuum sealed in 1/2 gal jars and stored in a cool dark dry place would have to be about the best I can think of ... I've done a year w/ a 60 gram Boveda 62 in a 1/2 gal jar of weed w/ only an occasional opening. I prefer weed that has aged 4 months to a year but I would like to be able to 'freeze' the cure at 4 months and then have it age slowly there after ... I think vacuum sealing can do that but I'm confused about what vacuum sealing will do to the humidity in the jar and in the bud ... appreciate any thoughts.

It would be interesting to put a bodeva in a jar, with nothing else in it but a digital humidity reader and seal it for a day or two and see if the humidity varies from what it was unsealed. Im guessing the loss of pressure wouldnt change much, but I could be wrong.

I'll try it as soon as I free up a jar ...

That's some good info Corgy, thanks ... I'm thinking a gentle vacuum, just enough to seal the lids might be best for long term storage ... then opening them about every three months to check for effects of vacuum ... thanks again.
